Episode 13 recap: Summer Vacation and a Super Moon
Yu Shu wakes up late, only realizing she’s going to be late for school when Jin Zhan tells her. She has no memory of what happened the night before. Xiao Mei, still harboring feelings for Yu Shu, is thinking about how to confess her feelings.He Shang gives Xiao Mei the photos he took of her performance, which she appreciates. He hopes this will bring them closer. With the exams approaching, He Shang excitedly announces that summer tutoring has been canceled, giving everyone free time. He suggests Du Sha go out with them, hoping to get Xiao Mei to join in.
Just as He Shang is enjoying the news, Chen Xiao Hong arrives, and everyone quickly returns to their seats. Jin Zhan, worried about the upcoming exams, stays after school to study. Yu Shu stays to help him.
The exams arrive, and Jin Zhan, remembering Yu Shu's teachings, performs exceptionally well. He even surpasses Hong Ze Feng, who is shocked by the results.
The school hosts a cultural exhibition, where Jin Zhan and Yu Shu participate and take pictures together. Jin Zhan’s good grades earn him a video game console as a reward. He invites everyone over to play, and Du Sha brings homemade rice wine. They don't give any to Yu Shu, afraid she might get drunk. But Jin Zhan ends up getting drunk and starts rambling about how happy he is to have everyone in his life. He then talks about missing everyone when summer vacation starts, and, to everyone's shock, calls Chen Xiao Hong by her name. The others try to stop him but are unsuccessful.
Despite having no homework, everyone is now required to report their study progress to Chen Xiao Hong. The next morning, Jin Zhan is disappointed to find everyone doing their "homework." Yu Shu tells him about his call to Chen Xiao Hong, and he blames them for not stopping him.
Jin Zhao, seeing the situation, provides everyone with snacks and encourages them not to give up on Jin Zhan.
Jin Zhao can now focus on his relationship, as he's now dating Hong Jie. He brought Hong Jie to the decompression game room, and while Hong Jie was initially a bit scared, Jin Zhao stayed by his side. Their relationship deepened, and they had a lot of fun.
After finishing their homework, everyone took a break. Xiao Mei mentioned that there would be another big moon in a few days, and they all decided to watch it together. Xiao Mei hoped she could join them. Soon, everyone had to go home. Jin Zhan felt a little sad about leaving. Yu Shu called Hong Jie to tell him about the supermoon and that she wanted to spend time with her family. Hong Jie agreed.
At home, Jin Zhan received a call from Yu Shu's sister, inviting him over for dinner. She even threatened him a little, and he agreed. Everyone was looking forward to the supermoon the next night. They talked about how their parents didn't care much about the supermoon, and Jin Zhan said they would create their own surprise.
Jin Zhan started a little ceremony by writing everyone's names on popsicle sticks. Whoever got drawn would have to prepare a gift for the other person. He Shang was thrilled because he drew Xiao Mei, giving him a chance to express his feelings. Yu Shu went to her father's cake shop to learn how to make a cake, which she planned to give to Jin Zhan as a gift.
The next day, Jin Zhan went to Yu Shu's house for dinner. Yu Shu's father prepared a lot of food and invited Jin Zhan to come over for meals whenever he had the time. Jin Zhan accepted. As evening approached, everyone gathered to exchange their gifts.
Jin Zhan drew Du Sha and gave him a pair of boxing gloves. Du Sha gave He Shang a pair of shoes, He Shang gave Xiao Mei a bracelet, Xiao Mei gave Yu Shu a notebook, and Yu Shu gave Jin Zhan a handmade cake, though it was a bit damaged by the time she got there. Everyone made wishes under the moon, hoping to enjoy the present moment and have a brighter future.
