Episode 15 recap: Yu Shu and Gu Fei Compete in the School Election
In Episode 15, Yu Shu didn't give Jin Zhan the photos he requested the night before. Jin Zhan took the opportunity to snap some pictures of Yu Shu after class, but he found Yu Shu was uninterested in him and the photos didn't turn out well. Jin Zhan decided to wait for a better time.
Later, while Yu Shu was looking out the window, Jin Zhan took advantage of the situation and secretly took some photos of him. Yu Shu noticed Jin Zhan taking the photos but didn't say anything. Jin Zhan even showed his photos to his friends. He was determined to defend Jing Shui High School's honor in the upcoming school election and prevent Gu Fei from becoming the top candidate.
Xiao Mei expressed her full support for Yu Shu. Everyone started working together, campaigning for both Yu Shu and Gu Fei. When Yu Shu went to the library, he noticed people looking at him strangely. He learned from Fu Min that he had become a popular candidate for the school's "Most Popular Student" election.
Yu Shu confronted Jin Zhan about nominating him for the election, but Yu Shu felt it was a waste of time and would be better spent studying. Jin Zhan, however, believed that Yu Shu was the perfect candidate and that Gu Fei shouldn't be allowed to take the lead.
The day of the mock exam results and the "Most Popular Student" election results coincided. Everyone was surprised to see Yu Shu looking dejected. It turned out that Gu Fei had topped both the mock exam and the "Most Popular Student" election. Chen Xiao Hong pulled Yu Shu aside and reprimanded him, saying that as class president, he should set a good example. She was disappointed that his exam score had dropped significantly, suggesting he hadn't been studying hard.
Jin Zhan comforted Yu Shu after learning about his poor exam results. Chen Xiao Hong knew Yu Shu played the piano outside of school. Yu Shu thought Jin Zhan had told her, but it was actually Gu Fei who had discovered Yu Shu's secret. Jin Zhan was also surprised that Chen Xiao Hong knew, as he hadn't told her.
Jin Zhan had improved his exam score by over 100 ranks. Rumors started circulating that Yu Shu's poor performance was due to Jin Zhan, but Gu Fei defended Jin Zhan. Jin Zhan didn't appreciate Gu Fei's support and wondered if he had been a burden to Yu Shu.
Gu Fei and Yu Shu had a private conversation. Yu Shu expressed his indifference to the school's popularity ranking and didn't care about Jin Zhan. He knew someone had manipulated the results to make Gu Fei the "Most Popular Student."
Gu Fei said he just wanted Jin Zhan to get to know him. They then raced together, and Gu Fei quickly surpassed Yu Shu. Yu Shu collapsed before reaching the finish line, and Jin Zhan rushed to his side.
Chen Xiao Hong, aware of Yu Shu's recent poor condition, comforted him. Jin Zhan questioned Gu Fei, who explained he just wanted to be good friends with Yu Shu. Gu Fei also said that everyone dislikes losing, and he wanted to prove his sincerity to Jin Zhan. Jin Zhan left angrily.
That evening, Yu Shu's father had already learned about his poor exam results and comforted him. He was curious about Yu Shu's race during PE class, but was happy that Yu Shu had learned to compete.
At school, Jin Zhan tried to talk to Yu Shu, but Yu Shu ignored him. After school, Yu Shu stopped Jin Zhan and wanted to know what Chen Xiao Hong had told him. Jin Zhan didn't reveal anything.
Jin Zhan went to see Gu Fei and showed him the photos. He expressed his sincere desire to be friends with Jin Zhan, but Jin Zhan ignored him. After Jin Zhan left, Gu Fei smirked in disdain.
Jin Zhao and Hong Jie were cooking together, looking very sweet. Yu Shu arrived and felt awkward when they saw him. He claimed he was just delivering something to Jin Zhan. He then went to Jin Zhan's room and left his homework on his desk. He noticed that Jin Zhan had placed the sneakers he gave him in a cabinet. Yu Shu realized that he hadn't actually given the sneakers to Gu Fei.
During class, the teacher asked Yu Shu and Gu Fei to sit together. Jin Zhan was worried about Gu Fei, but Yu Shu reassured him, saying he would pass the next mock exam and Gu Fei would get first place.
