Episode 2 recap: Mistaking Dusha as Sakura Chibi

In Episode 2, Heshang gathers the courage to confess his feelings to his crush, Xiaomei, but the scene is witnessed by a group of mischievous classmates, who immediately burst into laughter and mockery. Just as Heshang is feeling embarrassed and helpless, his friend Jinzhan steps up and uses his exceptional eloquence and sense of justice to defend Heshang. Yusu, who happens to be passing by, also joins in, and with his academic reputation and calm analysis, makes the mockers realize their mistake and eventually leave in embarrassment.

Yusu doesn't forget to remind Jinzhan that he should invest more effort into his studies to seek progress. After Heshang's mood has settled, he quickly finds Xiaomei, gently comforts her that she need not be troubled by the incident, and offers to escort her home, but Xiaomei politely declines, choosing to be alone for a while. Heshang silently watches over her until she leaves safely.

After school, Yusu presents Jinzhan with carefully selected supplementary learning materials, encouraging him to study hard to avoid dragging down the class.

Jinzhan recalls the incident on the basketball court where he accidentally injured Yusu, and he wants to affectionately pat Yusu's head, but Yusu jokingly rejects him, and their friendship becomes even more natural and pure.

As Jinzhan is about to leave, he happens to encounter Dusha, who is wearing a yellow hat, which immediately reminds him of the "Sakura Chibi" - the mysterious girl who had saved him in his time of need. Overjoyed, Jinzhan mistakenly believes that Dusha is that benefactor. The next day, not only does he arrive at school early, but he also specially prepares breakfast for Dusha, only to be directly rejected by her. Jinzhan's enthusiasm does not diminish, and he even wants to accompany Dusha for cleaning duty, but is coldly turned away.

In the classroom, Jinzhan immerses himself in his own fantasy, drawing a portrait of Sakura Chibi, convinced that Dusha is his "goddess". Heshang mischievously snatches the drawing paper, and Jinzhan hurriedly takes it back, afraid of being misunderstood by Dusha. From then on, Jinzhan's adoration for Dusha grows deeper, and he even proposes to join the boxing club, despite Dusha's ridicule, but he remains optimistic.

As the study group assignments come, Yusu and Jinzhan unexpectedly become partners, causing a burst of laughter from their classmates. Jinzhan takes every opportunity to ask Yusu for advice, but his gaze often unconsciously drifts towards Dusha, his pure admiration evident. Yusu, in the midst of his busy schedule, persists in tutoring Jinzhan, and the two make progress together.

Jinzhan's efforts not only surprise his family but also boost his self-confidence. He hopes to improve his grades to gain the opportunity to join the boxing club and fight alongside Dusha. On one occasion, Jinzhan completes the test paper early and hands it to Dusha, demonstrating his progress. After school, at the boxing training hall, Jinzhan expresses his determination to Dusha, but is quickly defeated in the sparring match, yet he is undeterred.

Yusu, upon learning of Jinzhan's persistence, deeply feels his sincerity. It turns out that Dusha is the "Sakura Chibi" who saved Jinzhan years ago, but she has never revealed her identity. Yusu realizes that he had also saved Jinzhan that day, but the two had never recognized each other. To maintain this beautiful misunderstanding, Yusu decides to remain silent and continue to help Jinzhan grow as a friend.

At night, Yusu still provides online tutoring for Jinzhan, and although Jinzhan is fighting against drowsiness, his unwavering pursuit of his dream and his admiration for Dusha keep him going.

This period has not only witnessed Jinzhan's growth but has also deepened the profound friendship among the three.
