Episode 20 recap: Gu Fei Helps Jin Zhan Get a Suit for the Engagement Ceremony
In episode 20, Jin Zhan and Yu Shu were still looking for a lucky coin, with Yu Shu expressing uncertainty about the direction of his life and asking Jin Zhan what choices he would make. Jin Zhan accidentally got his suit pants dirty while searching, so Gu Fei bought him a new suit to wear to his brother's engagement ceremony.
At the engagement party that evening, the exhausted Jin Zhan was happy to see his brother and sister-in-law celebrating together. He even helped dress up Yu Shu with hairclips and showed him old photos. Afterward, Gu Fei invited everyone to a farewell dinner, as his exchange student program at Jingshui was ending and he would be returning to his original school the following week. Gu Fei apologized for any past unpleasantness, and the group reconciled.
Jin Zhan asked Gu Fei if he had adjusted well to his time at Jingshui. Gu Fei admitted he had initially tried to take Jin Zhan away from Yu Shu, but realized he didn't truly understand friendship until coming to Jingshui. Meanwhile, Xiao Mei and He Shang discussed their own relationship issues, with Xiao Mei considering letting go of her feelings for someone. Overall, the group used the lucky coin to gain clarity on their personal decisions.
Gu Fei also called his mother and told her that he had decided to study abroad. Yu Shu told Jin Zhan that he planned to apply to an aviation university, and encouraged Jin Zhan to get into the college of his choice.
Du Sha went to the boxing gym, and discovered that Hong Ze Feng had kept the boxing gloves she had discarded. He hoped she would not give up on boxing.
The night before Jin Zhan's competition, he kept Jin Zhan's younger sister company and listened to her stories. She gave Jin Zhan her favorite hairclip, and Yu Shu gave Jin Zhan his eyelashes, both wishing him good luck.
On the day of the competition, Jin Zhan was nervous as the hairclip had broken. But Teacher Li encouraged him, and said that Yu Shu would come to support him. Yu Shu had been waiting for the bus when Gu Fei gave him a bicycle to ride to the venue.
Jin Zhan performed well in the competition. Afterwards, someone accidentally knocked over the barrier, injuring Yu Shu. Jin Zhan rushed him to the hospital, feeling very guilty, though Yu Shu was not seriously hurt.
Originally, Jin Zhan's father was going to take Jin Zhan's younger sister to a parent-child camp. But Jin Zhan offered to go with her instead, so she wouldn't be disappointed. At home, Jin Zhan playfully teased the temporarily blind Yu Shu, until Yu Shu caught him.
In class, Yu Shu had to wear blindfolds, as he could not open his eyes for a few days.
