Episode 1 recap: Lin Qiang Offends Qian Cai and Gets Transferred to a Branch

Episode 1:Lin Qiang, a young and promising individual, was appointed as the Deputy General Manager of the Credit Approval Department at the headquarters of Lianzhong Bank through sheer hard work. He refused to sign off on a loan for Haisheng Bio-Tech Company, which had questionable financial records, and thus offended his superior, Qian Cai, the General Manager of the Credit Approval Department. As a result, he was transferred to the Longyuan Branch, a remote branch with the worst performance, as the Deputy Branch Manager.

Lin Qiang went to the Human Resources Department to complete the transfer procedures with General Manager Xia Xin. Xia Xin felt sorry for him, but Lin Qiang didn't seem bothered. Qian Cai, peeking through the blinds of his office window, saw Lin Qiang leaving the bank building and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Zheng Shuai, a former human resources expert at the headquarters, was a good friend of Lin Qiang. He volunteered to go to the Longyuan Branch and was appointed as the Front Desk Manager. Before leaving, Zheng Shuai went to Deputy General Manager Luo Sha to hand over his work. Luo Sha had a crush on Zheng Shuai and tried to persuade him not to follow Lin Qiang's foolish decision, but Zheng Shuai had made up his mind. He packed his things and left for the new post with Lin Qiang.

Qian Cai called Qian Wei, the Branch Manager of Longyuan, and asked him to "take good care" of Lin Qiang. Hao Wei, knowing about the conflict between Lin Qiang and Qian Cai, understood the hidden meaning behind Qian Cai's words. Lin Qiang and Zheng Shuai took a taxi to Longyuan. They endured a bumpy ride and arrived at the branch late in the evening. The bank was already closed, but Zhang Jia Ming, Hao Wei's assistant, was waiting for them. He intentionally arranged for them to stay in a damp and dilapidated warehouse. Zheng Shuai was furious and wanted to find a hotel, but Lin Qiang persuaded him to stay for the night.

Early the next morning, Lin Qiang and Zheng Shuai went to work. The female tellers were all eager to catch a glimpse of Lin Qiang. Hao Wei warmly welcomed them, showing special care towards Lin Qiang. He privately advised Lin Qiang to apologize to Qian Cai and not waste his talent at the Longyuan Branch. Lin Qiang didn't respond.

The Longyuan Branch was located in an area with mostly relocated housing. There were few young people, mainly elderly residents. Lin Qiang immediately started working. He reviewed the savings records and discovered that Zhang Jia Ming had been taking a cut from the tellers' commissions. He received the highest bonus, while the tellers got very little. He asked Lin Xiao Zao, a female teller, about the situation. She claimed that she was not good at business and that elderly people were wary of financial products. Lin Qiang confidently assured her that he could sell a financial product within five minutes. Zhang Jia Ming didn't believe him.

After lunch, Lin Xiao Zao tried to sell a financial product to an elderly man who regularly deposited money. She was scolded by the man. Lin Qiang heard the commotion and rushed over. He carefully observed the man and realized from his clothing and mannerisms that he liked golf. He used golf balls and financial products as an analogy and explained the benefits and returns of financial products in a simple and understandable way. The man immediately bought 700,000 yuan worth of financial products.

Zhang Jia Ming timed Lin Qiang with his watch, and sure enough, Lin Qiang sold the product in less than five minutes. The female tellers were impressed by Lin Qiang and invited him and Zheng Shuai to play poker with them. They had a great time.

Lin Qiang took the opportunity to ask the tellers about Zhang Jia Ming taking a cut of their commissions. They refused to talk, fearing retaliation from Zhang Jia Ming after Lin Qiang left. Lin Qiang assured them that he would stay at the Longyuan Branch and promised them five times their current monthly performance. The tellers were naturally thrilled.

Lin Qiang and Zheng Shuai didn't want to stay in the dark and damp warehouse, so they went to Zhang Jia Ming's dormitory at night and took over his bed. Zhang Jia Ming was miserable. Early the next morning, Zhang Jia Ming complained to Hao Wei. Hao Wei promised to find a dormitory for Lin Qiang and Zheng Shuai. Lin Qiang took the opportunity to bring up the unfair bonus distribution and suggested that, according to headquarters regulations, all commissions should go to the tellers and Zhang Jia Ming shouldn't take a cut. Hao Wei explained that two years ago, he and Zhang Jia Ming had built the Longyuan Branch together, and Zhang Jia Ming had developed all the customers and potential customers, so he deserved credit. Lin Qiang didn't buy it and publicly questioned him, even asking the tellers to vote by raising their hands. They all supported the headquarters regulations. Lin Qiang announced the voting results on the spot, and Hao Wei stormed off in anger.

Hao Wei refused to revoke Zhang Jia Ming's commission, adamantly refusing to sign the application. He insisted that each branch had its own historical reasons. Hao Wei planned to wait until Lin Qiang was settled and then transfer him to another branch.

Lin Qiang felt sorry for Xiao Xiao, the front desk receptionist, who couldn't eat lunch on time, so he volunteered to cover her shift.

Lin Qiang also gave Lin Xiao Zao some advice, which helped her successfully secure a deposit. Lin Xiao Zao used her commission to treat her colleagues to dinner. When they learned that Lin Qiang had helped her, they were deeply impressed by him.
