Episode 2 recap: Hao Wei Sees Lin Qiang as a Thorn in His Side
Lin Qiang and his colleagues are having dinner together. When he steps out to take a call, he sees Xia Xin's daughter, Ling Le Le, working as a hostess in a bar. He follows her and tries to confront her, but the bar owner sees him and has him thrown out. Lin Qiang waits for Ling Le Le to finish work and tries to convince her to quit the job, but she refuses and argues with him.
Lin Qiang joined Lianzhong Bank after graduating from college thanks to Xia Xin. He feels grateful to her and can't bear to see her daughter fall into such a situation. Despite his efforts, Ling Le Le refuses to listen. Hao Wei is frustrated by Lin Qiang's actions and goes for a massage to relieve stress. Qian Cai finds him and Hao Wei complains to him about Lin Qiang. Qian Cai promises to find a way to transfer Lin Qiang away.
Lin Qiang was Qian Cai's apprentice when he first started working at the bank. He often went to Qian Cai's house for meals, and Qian Cai and his wife treated him well. When Lin Qiang visits Qian Cai's house for dinner, Qian Cai advises him to stop fighting with Hao Wei. Qian Cai's wife takes the opportunity to suggest that Qian Cai transfer Lin Qiang back to the head office, and Qian Cai readily agrees.
Lin Qiang has been carefully reviewing the files of Haisheng Company. He discovers that the company's largest shareholder has four loans from Lianzhong Bank, all of which are bad debts. Qian Cai insists that the loan application materials submitted by Haisheng Bio are legitimate and compliant, but Lin Qiang suspects that the company is taking out loans fraudulently. Qian Cai is furious and storms off to his room without finishing his meal.
Lin Qiang wants to tell Xia Xin about Ling Le Le's hostess job, but Xia Xin calls him first. She advises him to stop making enemies at Longyuan Branch and suggests transferring him to Financial Street Branch. Lin Qiang refuses and insists on staying at Longyuan Branch. Xia Xin receives two anonymous photos in the mail. They were taken secretly while Lin Qiang was talking to Ling Le Le outside the bar. Xia Xin warns Lin Qiang not to investigate the two problematic loans from Qian Cai, as it could be dangerous.
Zhu Feng Shan, the head of the Central Branch, visits Longyuan Branch. Hao Wei is very respectful towards him. Zhu Feng Shan asks Lin Xiao Zao about Lin Qiang and Zheng Shuai. Zhang Jia Ming suspects that Lin Qiang is forming a small group while playing cards and even made Zheng Shuai take off his pants after losing. Lin Xiao Zao denies the accusation and demands to confront the person who spread the rumor. Zhang Jia Ming admits that he was eavesdropping outside.
Zhu Feng Shan is amused and wants to talk to Zheng Shuai to get the real story.
