Episode 20 recap: Miao Nasha Becomes One of the First Relocation Households

In Episode 20, Miao Nasha unfortunately falls victim to Zhang Xiaowei's violent behavior. At a critical moment, Wen Jing rushes in with her brother to try to stop their father. However, Miao Nasha realizes that avoiding the situation isn't a solution, so she decisively decides to call the police. Wen Jing quickly goes to their neighbor, Hong Yang, for help and borrows a phone to report the incident. The police arrive swiftly and take Zhang Xiaowei away.

To Miao Nasha's dismay, her mother-in-law shows no sympathy, instead blaming her daughter-in-law, arguing that arguments between spouses are common. Seeing this, Wen Jing steps up to take responsibility. At that moment, Lu Guang Bin arrives at the scene and firmly states that Zhang Xiaowei's actions are domestic violence and completely unacceptable.

Meanwhile, Sister Cong returns home to talk to her brother Cong Jun Sheng, trying to find out if the girl he likes is An Yan. Cong Jun Sheng, feeling nervous, uses a headache as an excuse to leave quickly. It turns out Sister Cong is not fond of An Yan, mainly worrying that her brother would become a stepfather and take care of someone else's child. An Yan, on the other hand, proposes building a swimming pool to Yu Ju, hoping to attract more students to relocate, but her suggestion faces opposition.

Due to Zhang Xiaowei's domestic violence incident, Lu Guang Bin holds a meeting. Miao Nasha is shocked to learn that her decision to call the police has resulted in Lu Guang Bin being punished, leaving her feeling guilty. Lu Guang Bin informs Miao Nasha that Zhang Xiaowei will be detained for two weeks and reminds her of her right to appeal. However, Miao Nasha decides against appealing; she just wants to move to the city with her children for a better life and educational opportunities.

At the same time, Director Li praises An Yan's swimming pool proposal and decides to report it to the higher-ups under the city bureau's name. Pei Qiu Yun, a highly educated talent, chooses to stay at the Fourteenth Middle School, which makes An Yan feel that she is underutilized. Yet, Pei Qiu Yun recalls that An Yan helped her complete her education when she was younger, which solidifies her choice.

Xiao Yue, Zhang Nan, and Fang Xiang gather together, with Fang Xiang sharing his sports teaching plan that incorporates athletics, swimming, and cultural elements from ethnic minorities. An Yan is searching for Xuan paper to practice calligraphy in hopes of impressing Teacher Wu and promoting calligraphy education at the school. Teacher Wu is touched by An Yan's sincerity and decides to join the Fourteenth Middle School, planning to turn the school's corridor into a calligraphy exhibition area for students.

To express his feelings to An Yan, Cong Jun Sheng makes a detour across the city to buy her favorite pink items. This scene is noticed by Principal Wang, who thinks the two are a great match. However, An Yan is quick to clarify her relationship with Cong Jun Sheng.

Lu Guang Bin visits Zhang Xiaowei's mother again, patiently persuading her to move to the city with her daughter-in-law and granddaughter. He promises that as long as the children are happy, the family will stay together. The mother-in-law eventually agrees but remains concerned about her old-age care. Miao Nasha kneels before her, promising to care for her like a daughter. Moved by Miao Nasha's sincerity, the mother-in-law agrees to the relocation.

Lu Guang Bin also informs Miao Nasha that moving to the city will only require 2,000 yuan, with the school covering all other expenses. Director Li brings more good news: the land for the swimming pool has been approved, but the school will need to cover the costs. After discussing it, An Yan and Zhang Nan decide to seek funding support. Miao Nasha takes Wen Jing to the school to announce their relocation decision, bringing along herbal medicine for injuries and Wen Jing's favorite orchid root snacks.

Under the school's arrangement, Pei Qiu Yun takes on significant research responsibilities due to her high education and English proficiency. Her arrival puts pressure on Yu Li Juan, but An Yan cleverly suggests that Pei Qiu Yun apprentice under Yu Li Juan, easing her burden while promoting collaboration and learning among teachers. In response to declining student enrollment due to rural relocation, the school decides to actively recruit to retain students.
