Episode 25 recap: Report on No Evening Study Conditions at School 14
In episode 25, Director Ma visits School 14 in the evening and observes the students studying diligently. He shares the good news with An Yan that the higher-ups have approved evening study sessions. After school, An Yan, along with Principal Wen, patrols the area to encourage students lingering outside to go home and rest.
The next day, School 14 collaborates with Peace Middle School for a joint experimental class. An Yan personally leads some students to Peace Middle School, where Cong Jun Sheng guides them through the "Torricelli" experiment. The students successfully connect the tubes and fill them with red liquid. Due to atmospheric pressure, even when the blockage is removed from the bottom, the liquid remains unchanged at any angle in a vacuum state.
After the experiment, Cong Jun Sheng summarizes the results for the students, expressing hope that they will approach relationships with the same consistency as atmospheric pressure. As he says this, he gazes affectionately at An Yan, who suddenly realizes he is confessing his feelings. She becomes unexpectedly nervous, while teachers at the school secretly observe the two.
Li Qin feels a bit disappointed, realizing that Cong Jun Sheng does understand romance but acts like a clumsy fool in front of her. During the second experiment, Cong Jun Sheng and An Yan work together, smiling at each other. Afterward, An Yan privately asks Cong Jun Sheng when he started liking her. He admits that he has loved her unconsciously for a while, wanting to comfort and protect her whenever she feels vulnerable.
An Yan reveals her past marriage and child, but Cong Jun Sheng is unfazed by these realities and decides to work in the city instead. He picks a flower for An Yan, and in that moment, she realizes that she has feelings for him as well, joyfully accepting his gesture.
Principal Zhou teases Cong Jun Sheng, revealing that his application to stay at Peace Middle School was motivated by An Yan, and now he has voluntarily joined the transfer list for her sake. Principal Zhou encourages An Yan to quickly take Cong Jun Sheng away, joking that he is slow to realize things and reminding her not to forget to inform him when they get married.
Meanwhile, Director Yu reprimands Director Ma after receiving reports from parents claiming that School 14 is illegally holding evening study sessions. Ma immediately informs An Yan, and everyone begins searching for the whistleblower, eager to communicate and understand the situation. The community learns that many teachers like Fang Xiang are looking for rental housing and are willing to offer some of their vacant rooms to teachers, which could also help increase income for local villagers.
Pan Lingling doesn’t want to continue her studies, so Cong Jun Sheng visits her home. On the way, he encounters Lu Guang Bin catching crabs in the river. Lu Guang Bin mentions that he will visit Nuan Nuan tomorrow. Cong Jun Sheng is unsure how to bring up his relationship with An Yan and decides to set that aside for now, hoping Lu Guang Bin can help persuade Pan Lingling.
Lu Guang Bin understands that the Pan family is resistant to teachers and volunteers to take the lead. He arrives at Fang Jie’s house and discusses future developments in the village, including plans for homestays, since everyone is moving to the city. When the topic shifts to Pan Lingling dropping out of school, Fang Jie candidly reveals that her husband, who is a son-in-law by marriage, has no income. Meanwhile, their daughter is struggling academically and wants to abandon her studies to work in a city hotel, where the salary is quite high.
Lu Guang Bin finds the salary a bit suspicious. He mentions that he’ll be going to the city for business tomorrow and plans to check on Pan Lingling while he’s there. During evening study sessions, three students have been absent for several days. After inquiring with their parents, it turns out the parents have agreed to let their children skip classes. Meanwhile, someone is secretly recording the activities at School 14 outside the school gate. The village elder reassures An Yan that the whistleblower is definitely not from their village, as everyone supports the school's approach.
After class, Wen Jing doesn’t see her father, who lies about picking her up and sneaking off to play cards. Miao Nasha arrives at the location where people are playing cards, and Zhang Xiaowei, frustrated from losing, slaps her in a fit of anger. Heartbroken, she goes home and decides to call the police. The next day, Miao Nasha prepares breakfast for her children. When her mother-in-law asks about her son’s whereabouts, Miao Nasha hides the news of Zhang Xiaowei's arrest. She takes out her salary card and gives it to her mother-in-law, explaining that it contains her retirement funds and her children’s tuition. The mother-in-law is moved to tears, and Miao Nasha also gives some pocket money to the kids.
An Yan and Director Ma visit Sister An's shop for noodles. Director Ma suggests that An Yan start by investigating the internal teachers, in case someone reported the school due to increased workload.
