In Episode 10, Qin Ling Ling and Qin Feng finally made it to the end of their workday, with everyone else in the office rushing to leave, eager to escape.On the way home, Li Xiao Yue was visibly upset because Na Juan had ended their werewolf game too early, leaving her feeling frustrated Fortunately, a few comforting words from Na Juan lifted her spirits
Meanwhile, Na Wei returned home but didn’t touch the soup his mother had painstakingly made; instead, he washed up and went straight to bed. Shen Lei, after some reflection, decided to sincerely apologize to his wife, Xie Mei Lan, promising to work harder and encouraging her to voice any grievances she had. After so many years, Shen Lei realized he often made decisions without considering Xie Mei Lan's feelings. Although she didn’t say much, her demeanor noticeably improved.
While Xie Mei Lan was in the shower, Shen Lei thoughtfully placed some cut fruit on the table. However, he accidentally saw a message from Lu Jie to Xie Mei Lan that made him uneasy, especially since Lu Jie had invited her to meet at a hotel the next day. Shen Lei felt a knot form in his stomach and began to scroll through their chat history, growing suspicious about Lu Jie’s intentions toward his wife. Instead of confronting Xie Mei Lan, he decided to investigate Lu Jie online.
Shen Lin was also having a dilemma about what to wear for work the next day, struggling to choose from an array of flashy outfits. Coincidentally, both she and her older couple colleagues had connections to a boss’s brother-in-law at their respective companies.
The next day at work, Li Xiao Yue was startled when Qin Feng unexpectedly approached, causing her to spill coffee all over herself. Shen Lin, having learned from past experiences, opted for a more subdued outfit, earning compliments from Hu Hai Li who praised her resume and offered to take her out to celebrate her new job. Despite Li Xiao Yue’s usual unreliability, she delivered a timely proposal that impressed her boss.
However, due to the morning mishap, her boss instructed her to print the proposal for Xiao Wang to deliver to Qin Feng. Soon after, Li Xiao Yue received a termination notice for failing her probation period. Her boss, furious, attempted to confront Qin Feng, but Jiang Shan intervened. Li Xiao Yue didn’t say much; she simply packed her things and left.
At lunch, General Jia clung to Hu Hai Li like a stubborn adhesive. Shen Lei, still preoccupied with the chat records from the night before, postponed an afternoon meeting with the director, claiming personal matters. Instead, he went to the hotel to wait for Lu Jie. Unable to access the underground parking lot on his electric bike, he waited outside.
When Lu Jie’s car finally emerged that evening, Shen Lei rushed forward, blocking the vehicle. He threw soy milk at the windshield, ignoring Xie Mei Lan’s attempts to explain, and physically confronted Lu Jie, even throwing a punch.
On another note, Na Juan kindly prepared vegetable flowers for the terminated Li Xiao Yue, suggesting she could use them while looking at potential apartments. After finishing their meal, the two went shopping together, resembling a young couple in love.
In the end, Shen Lei and Lu Jie reached a reconciliation at the police station. Shen Lei apologized, and Lu Jie stated that it was a misunderstanding and wouldn’t pursue the matter further. They signed a mutual understanding document, but before leaving, Lu Jie issued a warning to Shen Lei about any future trouble involving Xie Mei Lan, implying that past grievances would also be addressed. Shen Lei didn’t respond, but his expression revealed deep discomfort, as if he’d swallowed something bitter.
