Na Wei and Na Juan feel lost, having no idea where Shen Lin might be, and Na Wei doesn’t dare tell Shen Lei about the situation. They consider driving to Shen Lin’s hometown, but Na Juan warns that if Shen Lin hasn’t gone home, their search will be obvious. Meanwhile, their daughter pretends to cry while their son is genuinely upset. Li Xiao Yue sends a video of the crying kids to Shen Lin but receives no response.
At that moment, Shen Lin is at a hotel, getting drunk and ignoring all calls. Shen Lei shows up, unable to hold back his frustration with Na Wei. Na Juan insists that the priority is to find Shen Lin. Shen Lei calls their parents to indirectly find out that Shen Lin hasn’t returned home. He then contacts a classmate in the village, asking him to keep an eye out at the village entrance. After all this, Shen Lei again criticizes Na Wei, who admits he spoke out of anger but claims he was pushed to the edge by debt collectors. This revelation shocks everyone, as they realize Na Wei has been in debt.
As they are at a loss, Zhao Pengju escalates the situation by hanging a banner in the community and using a loudspeaker to accuse Na Wei of living lavishly while refusing to pay his debts. Shen Lei approaches to reason with him, while Na Juan tries to prevent Na Wei from reacting violently. Zhao Pengju pushes Shen Lei to the ground, prompting Na Juan to confront him. Hearing the loudspeaker, Na Wei looks at his crying daughter upstairs and the crowd around him. In a fit of rage, he smashes the loudspeaker and decides to pay off debts that aren’t even his. Meanwhile, Shen Lin wakes up in the hotel and receives a bank notification that Na Wei has transferred 420,000 yuan from her account.
Shen Lin sends Na Wei an address, and Na Juan and Shen Lei accompany him there but don’t go inside. Na Wei enters the room and confesses to Shen Lin, regretfully slapping himself. Shen Lin says nothing and picks up an empty liquor bottle from the trash, taking a swig before handing it to Na Wei. All the money they had saved over the years is now gone. Shen Lin returns home, where Li Xiao Yue and others leave. Their daughter, acting like an adult, sets rules for her parents, stating that no one should leave without informing the others, no matter what happens. On the way home, Na Juan complains about the Na family, advocating that people shouldn’t have children without money or plans.
Li Xiao Yue, annoyed, retorts back. Before bed, Shen Lin calculates their finances and concludes she must find work and stop being picky. Na Juan takes Li Xiao Yue to her newly financed house, dreaming of a bright future. The next day at work, Jiang Shan notices that Na Wei seems much more relaxed.
Qin Feng instructs his team to put up slogans around the office. In the following meeting, Qin Lingling announces that Qin Feng has been promoted to General Manager of the group.
