Episode 14 recap: Su Li Uncovers Chen Ying Ying's Plan
In this episode, Chen Ying Ying calls Wang Wei De and instructs him to take some intimate photos of Su Li, claiming she wants them for her own purposes before Su Li's divorce. She insists that Su Li shouldn’t have a moment of peace. Wang Wei De hesitates, but Chen Ying Ying argues that he’s just a minor character in the grand scheme of things. Without her support, he wouldn't be earning so much money. She questions whether he really believes he’s a wealthy heir just because he’s played the role for a few days.
Earlier, Wang Gang Gang had received funding from Qian Zong for a project Su Li is working on. Qian Zong mentioned that if Su Li can secure the project, she could become the brand's spokesperson. Wang Gang Gang received money from Qian Zong but was unaware that Su Li’s collaboration with Li Zong hadn’t been finalized yet.
Qian Zong calls Wang Gang Gang, expressing urgency from the brand side to finalize the endorsement deal. Wang Gang Gang reassures him that he’s looking into it but adds that if he can’t resolve the matter, Qian Zong will have to discuss it directly with Su Li.
Meanwhile, Wang Wei De receives a call from Su Li, who is drunk and has lost her phone at a bar. He rushes to pick her up, and when he finds her asleep, he hesitates before recalling Chen Ying Ying's request.
Wang Wei De later shows the photos to Chen Ying Ying, stating that this will be the last time he helps her. She agrees, and then brings a group of reporters to interview Su Li. Su Li firmly denies any infidelity, claiming that the photos are fabricated.
Chen Ying Ying remains adamant, stating that she previously begged Su Li for mercy but was met with rejection. She accuses Su Li of forcing her into this situation. Just then, Wang Wei De emerges with the evidence, explaining that the photos were actually stills from a drama. The reporters were tipped off by an anonymous account, which turns out to be linked to Chen Ying Ying.
As the reporters gather, Chen Ying Ying becomes furious. It’s revealed that Su Li was sober that day and had doubts, leading her to alter the contract. Wang Wei De inadvertently left his fingerprints on it when he picked it up.
Wang Wei De apologizes to Su Li, who shares her own plans. Chen Ying Ying confronts Su Li, expressing her frustration over working hard yet receiving nothing, while Su Li seems to have everyone’s admiration. In a fit of rage, Chen Ying Ying brandishes scissors, attempting to attack Su Li, but Wang Wei De intervenes to protect her.
Later, Su Li offers Wang Wei De something but doesn’t enter. He asks her if she has any feelings for him, even a little. Su Li replies that since they met at the wrong time, it’s best not to continue down the wrong path.
