Episode 15 recap: Wang Gang Gang Awakens and Confesses to Su Li
In Episode 15, while Su Li was organizing her closet, she spotted her old shoes and felt a wave of nostalgia. She recalled the embarrassing moment when her high heels unexpectedly failed her, and thankfully, her colleague Wang Wei De had come to her rescue. Su Li thought it was only natural for her, as a supervisor, to check on him since he was part of the company.
She decided to take some time to visit him in the hospital, intending to bring him some warmth. However, upon arrival, she was surprised to learn that he had already been discharged. Back at the office, she ran into Wang Wei De as he arrived for work, carrying Su Li's favorite coffee. They were both momentarily taken aback.
Wang Wei De smiled and asked if she had come to the hospital to see him. Su Li then realized that he had deliberately kept his early discharge a secret to avoid worrying her. He joked that he had no intention of quitting, even if he was injured, and that Su Li couldn't easily "fire" him. Su Li felt a warm glow inside and didn't say much more, just encouraged him to get back to work.
Just as Su Li was ensuring Wang Wei De was settled, Wang Gang Gang rushed in, excited to share that he had found a new actor to replace Zhang Shu Heng, and the candidate seemed promising. However, a new problem arose: the other company needed a cash deposit of one million. Su Li frowned, knowing her company lacked that much liquid cash, but she didn't want to put Wang Gang Gang in a tough spot. She assured him she would figure something out and told him to wait at the finance department.
That evening, in gratitude for her help, Wang Gang Gang insisted on treating Su Li to dinner. Although Su Li wanted to pay, Wang Gang Gang insisted that she had already done enough for him, so this meal was on him. At the table, he reminded her to take care of herself, even when he wasn't around. Su Li was puzzled; after all, he was perfectly fine at work. Noticing her confusion, Wang Gang Gang chose not to elaborate.
A couple of days later, Wang Wei De showed up with bags of snacks for Su Li, thinking she hadn't assigned him any tasks lately and wanted to treat her. Su Li found his earnestness endearing and told him to take the items to finance for reimbursement.
Meanwhile, Wang Gang Gang used some of Su Li's funds from his personal account to meet with Shen Cha Ren. They had planned to leave the next day, but just before their departure, Wang Gang Gang suddenly changed his mind and texted Shen Cha Ren to cancel. Sitting in the office, reflecting on Su Li's kindness, he felt a mix of emotions and couldn't help but cry. Su Li noticed and rushed over to ask what was wrong.
Wang Gang Gang confessed his hesitation and guilt, feeling that leaving would betray Su Li and the company. Instead of blaming him, Su Li took him to relax with a bath, reassuring him that seeing him and Shen Cha Ren happy together made it all worthwhile. She suggested that the one million should be considered a wedding gift for the two of them. This only deepened Wang Gang Gang's turmoil.
When Shen Cha Ren learned of Wang Gang Gang's decision, he was touched by this loyalty and chose to abandon his plans, returning to face everything together with Wang Gang Gang. After navigating through various challenges, the three of them came to cherish their bonds of friendship and trust even more.
