Episode 4 recap: # Chen Yingying Kneels to Apologize at the Press Conference
In Episode 4, the agent is constantly on the phone, as the incident has already become a trending topic. Zhang Shuheng is frustrated, realizing that despite having paid someone off, the story was leaked. He is determined to find the culprit and recover the money. The agent also receives a call from the director, who harshly criticizes Zhang Shuheng, stating that with filming starting in a few days, such a scandal is unacceptable. If Zhang can't handle this well, the director will replace him.
The agent suggests the only solution is to have Su Li come out and clarify the situation. Zhang Shuheng doubts that Su Li will believe it, but the agent points out that a woman in love can be naive; otherwise, Su Li wouldn’t have been kept in the dark for so long. Meanwhile, Su Li is live-streaming, recommending two books, but the comments urge her to check the trending topics, revealing that Zhang Shuheng and Chen Yingying are rumored to be having an affair.
Su Li pretends to check her phone, feigning heartbreak, and everyone sympathizes with her. She genuinely believes in Zhang Shuheng; he wouldn’t do something like this, and someone must be trying to frame him. Zhang feels encouraged by her faith and suggests holding a press conference to clarify everything. It’s crucial that Zhang Shuheng and Chen Yingying don’t work on the same project anymore, as the audience won’t accept it.
The agent agrees and decides to postpone their joint project. Chen Yingying is unhappy, feeling that this was a hard-won opportunity that shouldn’t be taken away. However, given the circumstances, her objections are futile. Meanwhile, Wang Gang is at the hotel to sign a contract with Mr. Wu, who deliberately points out a loophole: they will owe him 2 million if Wang spends the night with him.
Wang Gang leaves, dresses up, and goes to find her husband, only to discover he is uninterested and out drinking with friends. Wang Gang's husband expresses his desire for a divorce, claiming they’ve lost love. Mr. Wu arrives at the hotel, only to find his own wife there. It turns out Su Li sent the news to Mr. Wu's wife, who is now furious with him.
