Episode 6 recap: Su Li Exposes Chen Ying Ying's Fake Pregnancy
In Episode 6, Su Li opens the door to her home and immediately sees Zhang Shu Heng lounging on the sofa, smiling and greeting her. Soon after, Chen Ying Ying gracefully descends the stairs, her eyes sparkling as she exclaims, "Su Li, your home is so spacious and cozy; I almost don’t want to leave!"
Su Li, delighted by this compliment, warmly invites Chen Ying Ying to stay for dinner. Without hesitation, Zhang Shu Heng rolls up his sleeves and heads to the kitchen. Su Li proudly tells Chen Ying Ying, "Zhang Shu Heng usually does all the cooking in our house. You’re in for a treat tonight!"
The atmosphere at the dinner table is initially warm until Chen Ying Ying suddenly drops a bombshell—she announces that she is pregnant. Su Li and Zhang Shu Heng exchange stunned glances before Su Li hurriedly offers her congratulations. On the way home, Zhang Shu Heng is troubled, wondering how, despite taking all precautions, such an accident could happen. Chen Ying Ying looks just as innocent, claiming she doesn’t understand it either.
Zhang Shu Heng solemnly states that he will take responsibility for Chen Ying Ying, but when she presses him about when he will divorce Su Li and marry her, he hesitates, saying that divorce is a serious matter that needs careful consideration. Chen Ying Ying passionately insists that if Zhang Shu Heng believes in her, their child will believe in him too.
A planned father-son dinner is derailed when Chen Ying Ying calls, insisting that Zhang Shu Heng stay with her; otherwise, she will go to Su Li and explain the situation herself. Zhang Shu Heng, feeling helpless, concocts a story about an emergency meeting to leave. Su Li, though puzzled, kindly encourages him to go, and she decides to go shopping with her best friend. Before he leaves, Zhang Shu Heng hands her his bank card, telling her to enjoy her shopping.
Not long after, Zhang Shu Heng receives a notification about the purchases on his card, discovering that Su Li has bought quite a few things. Curious, he asks what she bought, and she casually replies that it’s just some little trinkets. Meanwhile, Wang Gang Gang is preparing for an evening gathering, hoping to impress everyone, including her husband. When he sees her, he praises her, but a phone call abruptly changes his demeanor. He becomes distant, avoiding her questions and even roughly pulling his hand away from hers.
Elsewhere, Su Li and Zhang Shu Heng face a sudden scare in the parking lot when a car rushes toward them. Zhang Shu Heng quickly shields Su Li, but he ends up injured and bleeding. It all seems to be part of Su Li's careful plan; she subtly leads Zhang Shu Heng's boss to believe he’s considering changing jobs and cleverly arranges an auction where Zhang Shu Heng "gives" her a piece of jewelry worth 2 million.
As the truth starts to unfold, Chen Ying Ying confronts Zhang Shu Heng with a divorce agreement, revealing that Su Li had known all along and had orchestrated everything. Zhang Shu Heng, furious, vows to reclaim what is rightfully his and cut ties with this "evil" woman.
However, the situation takes a turn when Su Li unexpectedly runs into Chen Ying Ying. Upon learning that she is having coffee, Su Li deliberately stages a rear-end collision. A doctor’s examination reveals the shocking truth: Chen Ying Ying is not pregnant, which brings Zhang Shu Heng back to his senses completely.
