Episode 12 recap: In Episode 12, Jun Beiyue instructs Han Ziqing to negotiate with Chu Feiyan
He asks if she now understands what the Tianque wants, and Han Ziqing confidently replies that she has her own plans and that Jun should just wait She then sets off, leaving Jun Beiyue unconcerned about whether she can actually negotiate
To Chu Feiyan’s surprise, after waiting so long, the person who arrives is Han Ziqing. Chu Feiyan repeatedly emphasizes that she was waiting for Jun Beiyue, and questions Han Ziqing’s authority, pointing out that she represents the general of Xiling. Han Ziqing initially doesn’t want to bring up her status, but given Chu Feiyan’s attitude, she reveals her scorpion-shaped ring, asserting that seeing the ring is akin to seeing the Fourth Prince himself. This immediately weakens Chu Feiyan's confidence, but she quickly regains her composure and presents her own conditions.
Han Ziqing discerns that Xiling intends to shift the war to the Snowy Region. Instead of confronting Chu Feiyan directly, she proposes her own conditions: if Chu Feiyan agrees, she will accept Xiling's terms. This infuriates Chu Feiyan, but Han Ziqing remains unshaken and begins to leave. Initially cursing her, Chu Feiyan calls her back at the last moment and signs the agreement. Still seething, Chu Feiyan tries to hurt Han Ziqing by mentioning that Jun Beiyue wouldn’t touch her. Han Ziqing dismissively states that she doesn’t care at all.
With the agreement in hand, she seeks out Jun Beiyue, who is pleased with the outcome, and the military camp is in high spirits. At this moment, Situ Xiner calls out to Jun Beiyue and hops over happily, causing Han Ziqing to feel awkward. Jun Beiyue introduces them, but Xiner brings up the matter of “Guose Tianxiang,” making Han Ziqing uncomfortable. She retorts sharply and leaves first.
Later, Jun Beiyue sends someone to find Han Ziqing, instructing that Xiner shouldn’t leave the tent. The Second Brother wants to discuss credit for achievements, but Jun Beiyue firmly states that this matter doesn’t concern him. The Second Brother becomes furious but can only retreat to his quarters to vent his anger. When he learns Jun Beiyue left alone, leaving Xiner in the tent, he hatches a plan.
Xiner is determined to find Jun Beiyue, and the Second Brother easily tricks her into following him. Han Ziqing witnesses this and follows, only to discover the Second Brother’s intention to kill Xiner and frame her. When Han Ziqing intervenes, she is misinterpreted by Xiner.
That night, Han Ziqing plays the piano alone, sulking. Jun Beiyue comes to check on her, but she doesn’t respond warmly. Even an outsider like Hong Yi can see that they have feelings for each other, yet Han Ziqing tells herself it's just a dream that she will eventually wake up from, as everyone here is unrelated to her.
As soon as Jun Beiyue leaves, Han Ziqing hears the sound of Li Ge’s music. Following the sound, she continues to learn from Li Ge about Li Shang, which is crucial to the Longyuan Continent and may be related to her. Unexpectedly, Jun Beiyue appears again, and Han Ziqing instinctively shields Li Ge, only to be called away by Jun Beiyue.
Unbeknownst to them, the Second Brother follows closely and meets with Li Ge, leading to a new collaboration. Jun Beiyue and Han Ziqing argue over the Li Ge situation, with Jun declaring that he will no longer care for her. Meanwhile, the people from Nanzhao have not given up on capturing Han Ziqing, and she continues to play the piano, ignoring Jun Beiyue’s celebratory feast held down the mountain.
