Episode 18 recap: Han Zi Qing Rejects the Invitation from the Qinse Elders
In Episode 18, Su Ying and Jiang Chen are shocked to discover that Nian Bei's true identity is the Fourth Prince, Jun Bei Yue. They are sweating profusely as he walks by and casually takes an apple without saying a word. When Jun Bei Yue sits down, Han Zi Qing asks if anyone else wants to bid on the divine wood seed. Li Ge stubbornly raises his bid, increasing it from 30,000 to a staggering 90,000.
At that point, Jun Bei Yue smiles slightly and bids a whopping 1,000,000 taels. The room falls silent, and even Li Ge is stunned into silence. Suddenly, Bai Li Wei Sheng appears and starts rambling about how the divine wood seed is worth much more than a million. Han Zi Qing, knowing he's causing trouble, asks if he wants to bid. After a long-winded response, he adds just a single coin. Han Zi Qing can't help but laugh and asks if anyone will take the bid of 1,000,000 taels plus one coin. Both Jun Bei Yue and Li Ge remain silent, leaving Bai Li Wei Sheng in a panic.
Finally, Han Zi Qing makes the deal official and announces that all the money will be donated to Qinse Valley. Bai Li Wei Sheng becomes the valley's new millionaire, albeit in debt.
That night, while Han Zi Qing is applying medicine, Jun Bei Yue kindly offers to help, causing her to blush like an apple. She realizes that his high bid earlier was just to put Li Ge in his place. Jun Bei Yue is intrigued by the "fool" who suddenly appeared, and Han Zi Qing explains that he is a veterinarian who has helped them a lot. This makes Jun Bei Yue a bit jealous, but he feels satisfied after helping her with the medicine, promising to come back the next day.
Meanwhile, Su Ying and Jiang Chen are in a tough spot regarding the poisoning of Jun Bei Yue. They end up seeking help from Bai Shao Zhu, who is equally helpless, stating that they are all in the same boat and can't escape.
On the other hand, while Han Zi Qing plays the guqin, Bai Li Wei Sheng approaches with a long face, lamenting his debts. Han Zi Qing just smiles and remains silent. When Jun Bei Yue arrives, Bai Li Wei Sheng looks like he has found a savior but is ultimately ignored and leaves dejectedly, still blaming Han Zi Qing for his troubles.
Han Zi Qing realizes Jun Bei Yue is jealous, and he doesn’t even want to help her up. The Qinse elders talk to Li Ge, mentioning that Han Zi Qing might be Mu Ci's daughter. Li Ge confirms this and explains that Mu Ci stayed on Liuxian Island after being saved and became his master. The elders feel guilty about Mu Ci and, seeing Li Ge’s poor health, decide to pass the Qiu family teachings to Han Zi Qing, which makes Li Ge happy.
Jun Bei Yue and Han Zi Qing then go on an adventure to a mysterious cave filled with fireflies, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Han Zi Qing unexpectedly discovers a secret about the Sounds of Nature. Li Ge shows up just in time to inform them that it’s part of Li Shang, revealing that there are more than ten volumes! Afterward, Li Ge takes them to meet the Qinse elders, who express their desire to keep Han Zi Qing, but she politely declines.
Jun Bei Yue feels relieved; he certainly doesn't want Han Zi Qing to stay. Regarding the secret of Li Shang, they decide to continue their investigation, as it relates to whether Han Zi Qing can return to her own world.
Li Ge is also overwhelmed with the heavy burden of restoring his country, and Han Zi Qing complicates his feelings. Even the maid beside him notices his hesitation and struggle.
