Episode 33 recap: Jun Bei Yue Discovers His Mother's True Nature
In this episode, Jun Bei Yue is completely unaware of Lady Wan's sinister plans for Han Zi Qing in the depths of the ocean; his only concern is for Zi Qing's well-being and her recovery. However, Lady Wan is fixated on returning to Tianque. When Jun Bei Yue hears this, he frowns and questions whether she is willing to disregard Zi Qing's safety. Lady Wan quickly waves her hand, insisting that she is also worried about Zi Qing. Seeing her response, Jun Bei Yue chooses not to press further and simply reminds her to rest well.
Meanwhile, Han Zi Qing is suffering under the brutal punishment inflicted by the Silver Shark Clan. Just then, Bai Li Wei Sheng makes a sudden appearance, immediately restoring order to the situation. He orders an end to Zi Qing's torture and demands that the executioners face their own punishment. Afterward, he enters the cell to check on Zi Qing's injuries. Weakly, she asks him if he truly believes the rumors about the islanders being responsible for the Bai Li family's misfortunes. Wei Sheng silently nods after a moment but then hands her a hemostatic medicine, revealing his complicated feelings. His mother, eager to communicate with him, is ignored, as if she were invisible.
Lady Wan steps outside for some fresh air and unexpectedly encounters the Zhuan Master, who brings up past events. She is reluctant to delve into the topic and simply thanks him for his help with Jun Bei Yue. Curious, the Zhuan Master asks if she is still practicing any secret techniques. Upon hearing this, Lady Wan's expression changes dramatically, and she sharply tells him to stop talking before leaving. The Zhuan Mistress appears just in time to tease the Zhuan Master, both of them tense and worried about a potential secret being revealed, unaware that Jun Bei Yue is watching from a distance.
Elsewhere, Li Ge is plotting a bold plan to dig a tunnel connecting the two tombs through the deep sea. Meanwhile, Shiliang receives a covert signal from Lady Wan and attempts to harm Xiao Sheng, but his conscience and Jun Bei Yue's timely arrival prevent him from succeeding. Jun Bei Yue notices Shiliang's odd behavior and begins to make arrangements in secret.
Shiliang acquires poison from Lady Wan, feeling conflicted. After confirming her promises, he reluctantly accepts the harsh mission. Bai Li Wei Sheng drowns his sorrows in alcohol, while his mother aches for him yet feels powerless to help. Shiliang tries again to go after Xiao Sheng but is caught by the Shadow. Jun Bei Yue arrives quickly, and in response to Lady Wan's questioning, he decisively orders Shiliang's arrest and entrusts Xiao Sheng's safety to the Zhuan Master.
Jun Bei Yue seeks his master's memories about his mother but finds nothing. He then shifts his focus to rescuing Zi Qing, discovering a secret passage and planning a night raid on the Silver Shark Clan. Lady Wan attempts to visit Shiliang but is turned away. When she learns that Jun Bei Yue has successfully rescued Zi Qing, her first instinct is to pack and flee, only to be stopped by Jun Bei Yue. Once Xiao Sheng regains consciousness, she exposes Lady Wan's schemes. Facing accusations, Lady Wan tries to defend herself, but her arguments are full of holes.
The appearance of the Dream Clan Leader further unveils Lady Wan's past misdeeds, including her expulsion for practicing forbidden techniques. In a moment of agitation, Lady Wan inadvertently reveals a secret about Nan Zhao, leading Jun Bei Yue to suspect that her involvement may have contributed to Mu Ci's death, filling him with sorrow. Tensions escalate, and Lady Wan even resorts to violence, but she is ultimately restrained by the clan leader's barrier.
As time passes, when Han Zi Qing finally awakens, a long-awaited smile spreads across Jun Bei Yue's face. He realizes that no matter how difficult the road ahead may be, as long as Zi Qing is safe, that is his greatest comfort.
