Episode 36 recap: Xiaosheng Finds Her Parents
In Episode 36, Xiaosheng approaches Sheng Zimo and takes the Fengweisheng from his hands. Everyone is puzzled about her identity, and when they discover she can play the Fengweisheng, their surprise grows. To their astonishment, Xiaosheng successfully opens the Heavenly Pool! Even the Sheng family is taken aback, but the situation turns grim when several bodies emerge from the pool. No one knows what’s happening, except for Han Ziqing from Jun Bei Yue, who understands the origin of the bodies. They hope to use this as leverage to force King Nanzhao to confess his crimes.
Jun Bei Yue and Han Ziqing confront King Nanzhao, asking if he knows where the bodies came from. He remains silent, prompting them to assert that the deceased are from the Lonely Island. They explain that the totems on their faces, originally black, have turned red because they have been transformed into puppets. Following Bai Li Wei Sheng's suggestion, they bring soul insects to prove their claims of transformation, but King Nanzhao’s men insist they have no evidence and refuse to accept any accusations.
Madam Jin Jiao steps forward, declaring herself as evidence. King Nanzhao recognizes her, and she reveals the truth from years ago, stating that the Lonely Islanders have been wronged all this time, and that the true evil lies with Nanzhao. Realizing they are in the wrong, Nanzhao's men leave abruptly. Xiaosheng, wanting to return to Bai Li Wei Sheng, is stopped by the Sheng patriarch, who claims her as his daughter. Xiaosheng is terrified and only wants to be with Bai Li Wei Sheng, but Madam Jin Jiao supports her, arguing that they should consider the matter carefully.
The patriarch then invites everyone to gather at the mountain villa. Xiaosheng worries that Bai Li Wei Sheng will abandon her and hesitates to acknowledge her family. However, Bai Li Wei Sheng assures her that upon returning to Sheng's villa, she will become the leader of the Liangye Clan and has important tasks to attend to. Xiaosheng cries and is reluctant to go back, but Madam Jin Jiao promises that both she and Bai Li Wei Sheng will come back for her, leading Xiaosheng to agree.
Upon returning to the villa, Xiaosheng finally meets her biological parents. The patriarch is overwhelmed with emotion and asks her about the events of that time. Xiaosheng recalls only falling asleep and waking up in the hands of Ren Yazi. Sheng Zimo becomes anxious, prompting the patriarch to punish him, revealing that he had suspected something was amiss all along but felt helpless since Xiaosheng had already been lost. The Sheng family needs a successor!
Han Ziqing, holding the white jade flute, contemplates combining it with the Fengweisheng to obtain the remaining music sheets. Xiaosheng and she find a cave to play together, and they finally gather the pieces of "Li Shang." However, Han Ziqing still has unresolved doubts, so she asks Xiaosheng to leave. Not long after, Xiaosheng is blocked by Sheng Zimo, who blames her for everything. Terrified, she is rescued by Bai Li Wei Sheng, who she knows will not abandon Han Ziqing, leaving her unable to force him to stay.
Meanwhile, the Meng patriarch is determined to destroy the harmful Xu Shi Tower. Meng Lao Er and Meng Lao San, harboring ill intentions, approach King Nanzhao's Grand Master, who realizes their ambitions for the patriarch position but decides to visit the Meng family. It is revealed that the Meng family's elder once collaborated with the Grand Master to create puppets. The Grand Master kills the Meng patriarch, handing the patriarch’s seal to Meng Lao Er, while he learns of the connection between the Shiling Pearl and the blood of the Lonely Island's Holy Maiden from clues left by the Meng ancestors, declaring that his visit is not in vain! With the patriarch dead, Wan Yue's barrier shatters, allowing her to escape amidst the chaos.
Xiling has sent troops to Tiedan, all under Li Ge's control!
