Episode 37 recap: Wan Yue Rescues Li Ge
In Episode 37, Jun Bei Yue and Han Zi Qing receive news that Tie Yan is under attack by Xi Ling. Worried about Qian Qian and Hao Nan, they decide to return to Tian Que immediately, and Bai Li Wei Sheng insists on accompanying them. As they say goodbye to Xiao Sheng, she feels heartbroken and repeatedly confirms that they will return to her, but tears fall as she watches them leave.
Meanwhile, Chu Tian Ge learns of Tie Yan's counteroffensive but is puzzled about who is assisting them, given that Tie Yan is still dealing with internal strife. His subordinates inform him that Xue Yu is secretly aiding Tie Yan. When Chu Tian Ge confronts Xue Yu's leader, they dismiss him and incite his men to surrender. Because Chu Tian Ge is not known for his kindness towards his subordinates, he loses their loyalty, and they ultimately stab him to death.
Han Zi Qing and Jun Bei Yue finally arrive back at Tian Que. They ponder why Xi Ling could attack Tie Yan without passing through the Three Realms. An idea strikes An, recalling the Mysterious Deep Sea, but Jun Bei Yue, who has been there, knows that moving an army through that route is no easy feat. With no time to waste, they decide to meet with their troops to discuss strategies, with Wang An accompanying them.
Han Zi Qing then receives news that Qian Qian has arrived! She is covered in wounds, and Han Zi Qing is deeply pained to see her. Qian Qian reveals that Hao Nan is dead, and this tragedy is linked to Xuan Yuan Li Ge's alliance with Chu Tian Ge. She recounts everything she witnessed, shocking Han Zi Qing. Qian Qian wonders why Li Ge would occupy Xi Ling's royal city, suggesting that Xuan Yuan Li Ge is behind it all. Although Bai Li Wei Sheng hears this, he refuses to believe that Li Ge could do such a thing and decides to confront him.
Bai Li Wei Sheng arrives, carrying blood-stained evidence, demanding an explanation from Li Ge, who shockingly admits to orchestrating everything. When Bai Li Wei Sheng mentions Han Zi Qing and Jun Bei Yue, Li Ge claims he has been waiting for Jun Bei Yue to mobilize. He then instructs Xiao Meng to escort Bai Li Wei Sheng out. Confused, Bai Li Wei Sheng cannot grasp why Li Ge has changed so drastically.
Not long after, Han Zi Qing and his group confront Li Ge. Li Ge expresses relief at their arrival, but Qian Qian rushes in first, followed closely by Han Zi Qing, who threatens Li Ge with a knife, demanding an explanation. Li Ge insists that his actions are all for the sake of restoring the nation. Just then, Jun Bei Yue bursts in and attacks Li Ge, injuring him. However, hidden soldiers of Yin Sha reveal themselves, using their music to disrupt Jun Bei Yue's focus. Without hesitation, Han Zi Qing employs the sound attack taught by Li Ge against him. Seizing the moment, Jun Bei Yue strikes, but just then, a protective barrier shields Li Ge. As everyone stands bewildered, Wan Yue emerges from behind and takes Li Ge away.
Jun Bei Yue understands that his mother's emergence means something has happened with his grandfather, so he decides to return to Dream Crystal Island, while Han Zi Qing stays at Tian Que. Jun Bei Yue didn't expect that he would not even get to see his grandfather one last time. He wants to take a final look, but he is stopped by Meng Lao Er and Meng Lao San, who bluntly tell him that the clan leader died of illness and has already been prepared for burial; reopening the coffin would be inauspicious.
Determined to handle his grandfather's funeral arrangements, Jun Bei Yue stays behind. As he prepares, he discovers marks on his grandfather's neck indicating he was poisoned. Realizing that Meng Lao Er and Meng Lao San are behind this, he calls them over. Knowing they can no longer hide the truth, they shift the blame onto the Grand Master. Furious with the two of them, Jun Bei Yue kills them on the spot!
Meanwhile, Li Ge finally regains consciousness and, upon seeing Wan Yue resting with her eyes closed, contemplates launching a surprise attack on her!
