Episode 29 recap: Du Man Tang's Innocence Restored
In this episode, Du Man Tang casually reprimanded two tour guides, but his words were maliciously edited and posted online. The next day, his café was flooded with people questioning why he looked down on outsiders. Frustrated, Du Man Tang stomped his feet, trying to explain that he was actually scolding the tour guides, but no one was willing to listen. The edited video left his intentions unclear.
In a fit of anger, he considered closing the café for good and told Pierre that he would take the financial loss himself. That night, his café was vandalized with graffiti, leaving him feeling helpless as he sat there in silence.
Du Li saw the video online and quickly asked Wang Xiao Qing if she was aware of the situation. With a sigh, Wang Xiao Qing remarked that Du Man Tang was being set up.
Lei Zi suggested cleaning up the graffiti, but Du Man Tang stubbornly refused, insisting that they should stand up to the bullies. Furious, the heavyset guy demanded to know who did the graffiti and insisted that they should be the ones to clean it off. Left with no other choice, Du Man Tang sought help from some tech-savvy young men to recover the original video.
The young men were successful in restoring the video, and Du Man Tang rushed to confront the two tour guides. He publicly shared the original footage, clearing up the misunderstanding. Everyone finally understood the situation, and many came to apologize to Du Man Tang, commending him for his generosity.
Seizing the opportunity, Du Man Tang expressed how welcome he truly feels about visitors from other places. He highlighted the joys of their hutong, stating that it has not only the aroma of coffee but also the warmth of homestays and unseen pleasures that are often the most alluring.
He introduced Pierre as his business partner, emphasizing that if he truly discriminated against outsiders, he wouldn’t collaborate with Pierre. Pierre happily added that he was enjoying his time there immensely.
Word spread quickly, and Du Man Tang's reputation grew even more, attracting an increasing number of tourists to the hutong. Even Pierre became a popular figure for photos.
Teacher Guan praised Du Man Tang for handling the situation well, clearing the misunderstanding while promoting the hutong.
Meanwhile, Du Man Yi woke up to a debt collection message, feeling overwhelmed. As he was leaving with a bowl of noodles, he unexpectedly ran into Zhang Ze Zhong. Du Man Yi expressed his irritation that Zhang Ze Zhong could still enjoy a meal while everything at home was chaotic.

Zhang Ze Zhong visited Du Li at the hospital, where he noticed that she and Zhang You Ting were wearing matching socks. Realizing what this implied, he rushed home to gossip with Wang Xiao Qing.
Wang Xiao Qing laughed, saying she couldn’t make decisions about the kids' relationship and that they should consult Du Man Tang. When Du Man Tang saw the photo, he chuckled and said, "These two kids seem like a good match." Seizing the moment, Zhang Ze Zhong proposed, mentioning that although Du Li could be a bit temperamental, his son was understanding.
In the end, Du Man Tang and Wang Xiao Qing decided to let the kids develop their relationship naturally. They even planned a walk together, during which they encountered a street dancer. Du Man Tang encouraged Wang Xiao Qing to join in, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere.
