Episode 24 recap: Wu Xie and Fatty Encounter the Invisible Night King

In Episode 24, Fatty, Wu Xie, and Zhang Hai Xing muster their courage to enter the palace, only to find it eerily empty. Wu Xie carefully examines the walls of the building and discovers intricate, densely packed patterns carved into the surface, which appear both orderly and complex. Fatty, gazing at the towering walls covered in designs, can’t help but marvel at the craftsmanship.

Attempting to find a seam in the wall to trigger a mechanism, Fatty is astonished to realize that these walls, spanning thousands of square meters, are solid bronze with no visible seams. Meanwhile, Zhang Hai Xing makes a chilling discovery: in the center of the palace, a thick iron chain binds a person whose body is encased in mud, clearly petrified. With commendable boldness, she carefully peels away the petrified layers, revealing that the person was completely suffocated by the mud before death.

Fatty deduces that this individual was likely a sacrifice for the Night King. Wu Xie notices that the shapes of the patterns resemble alien script. He pours the water from his cup onto the floor, and to his surprise, the liquid quickly forms a shape resembling a llama. With limited water in the cup, Wu Xie then uses a knife to cut his palm, letting his blood drip onto the wall. The blood spreads upward, causing the patterns to shift and change. Suddenly, Wu Xie collapses, and Fatty immediately supports him, refusing to let his friend risk his life for an experiment. Instead, he cuts his own palm and continues to drip blood onto the wall.

Zhang Hai Xing, seeing an opportunity, cunningly lures Fatty away. When she reveals her true form and injures Wu Xie, he is shocked to hear her mock his naivety. It turns out that neither she nor Zhang Hai Ke are actually from the Zhang family; they have their own agenda. Desperate to locate the Night King, Zhang Hai Xing inflicts more wounds on Wu Xie and hangs him upside down against the wall. As more blood seeps out, the patterns on the wall multiply, captivating Zhang Hai Xing, who watches intently as they shift unpredictably.

Suddenly, it seems she spots something. She fires at a shadow, while Wu Xie, witnessing the shadow's escape, realizes they are up against the invisible Night King. Zhang Hai Xing, now flustered, restrains Wu Xie, clearly struggling to handle the situation alone.

With Wu Xie's hands and feet bound, he is defenseless against the Night King. Fortunately, Fatty reacts quickly. After being tricked by Zhang Hai Xing, he spots a strange object that piques his curiosity, leading him to almost fall off a cliff. Despite his usual physical prowess, he manages to save himself and rushes back to help Wu Xie.

Fatty frees Wu Xie from his bindings and tends to his wounds. Wu Xie immediately reminds him to grab his backpack, which contains essential tools. Hearing that the Night King may be skilled in invisibility, Fatty quickly activates the only glow stick he has and throws it, locating Wu Xie's backpack. He steps forward to retrieve it.

Wu Xie watches in horror as Fatty seems to be caught by something, lifted high, and choked. Acting swiftly, he throws several bombs in a desperate attempt to save him. The Night King appears frightened of the explosions and throws Fatty far away. Seizing the moment, Fatty grabs a smoke bomb from the backpack, and together they use the cover of smoke to escape from the cave.
