Episode 26 recap: Zhang Haixing Reveals the Secret of the Tibetan Sea Flower
In Episode 26, Wuxie unexpectedly discovers numerous nests near a lava flow. These nests resemble the large ball that previously consumed the foreign team led by Feng. Both Wuxie and the Fatty feel a chill, suspecting these nests might belong to the terrifying bugs. They stay alert, trying to find a way out without waking the creatures.
While looking around, they notice familiar markings on the cliff—left by Zhang Qiling. It turns out that many years ago, Zhang Qiling was already aware of the existence of these golden ball bugs. The drawings on the cliff depict horrifying stories of the bugs attacking humans and a group of warriors attempting to destroy them, only to fail and lose many lives in the process. Wuxie thinks to himself that if the Zhang family had engaged in battle against such formidable foes, they must be incredibly powerful.
What surprises Wuxie even more is the revelation that alongside the golden ball bugs, there are venomous snakes. Together, they had wiped out an entire nation, leading to the disappearance of the Hidden Sand people. Wuxie speculates that perhaps the Hidden Sand people are descendants of the Kumuli.
Upon examining the murals more closely, Wuxie uncovers a secret: the golden ball bugs lay their eggs on a specific flower that provides them with energy, known as the Tibetan Sea Flower. He finally understands why Zhang Haike has been exploiting them; he aims to use Wuxie's blood to unlock a mysterious door, with the Celestial Staff as the key. Unfortunately, the Celestial Staff has also fallen, prompting Wuxie to decide to retrieve it before Zhang Haixing wakes up.
Zhang Haike is heavily investing in finding that door, having bribed the Denasi troops. Meanwhile, Zhang Haixing is searching for the door as well. Wuxie has already used his blood to dissolve the patterns on the wall, and he is just one step away from success.
Zhang Haixing limps into the palace, hoping that Zhang Haike will come to assist her. She picks up the Celestial Staff and inserts it into a mechanism, causing the door to slowly open.
At that critical moment, Zhang Haixing hears a noise behind her. Turning around, she mistakenly thinks it's Zhang Haike and joyfully exclaims that the Tibetan Sea Flower is within reach. However, when Zhang Haike reaches out, she realizes something is off—this isn’t Zhang Haike! Wuxie had sprinkled some powder from a hexagonal bell on her, causing her to hallucinate. Seizing the chance, Wuxie grabs the Celestial Staff and bolts.
The Fatty also dons the clothing of the Mizhatta, pretending to pursue Zhang Haixing. With an injury on her leg, Zhang Haixing cannot run fast, so Wuxie helps her escape, hoping to prove he isn’t a bad person.
Seeing Wuxie injured and bleeding from a Mizhatta bite while trying to save her, Zhang Haixing realizes he is in serious trouble. In her desperation, she reveals everything she knows.
It turns out that the Tibetan Sea Flower they have been desperately seeking is the secret to the Zhang family’s longevity. After saving the Zhang family, Zhang Qiling vanished, and they began living ordinary lives. Zhang Haixing and Zhang Haike left the village to study, and Zhang Haike fell in love with a foreign woman named Niyata. Initially, Zhang Haixing resisted, but Zhang Haike encouraged her to let go of the past and start anew. She chose Zhang Jiuri, but he showed no interest in her.
Zhang Haike planned to marry Niyata, but on the night of the wedding, Zhang Qiling suddenly returned, injuring Zhang Haike and killing Niyata. This unexpected turn of events caught everyone off guard. Listening to these stories, Wuxie feels a mix of emotions, realizing there’s so much more behind the scenes. Now, he must quickly find the Tibetan Sea Flower to unravel all the mysteries.
