Episode 28 recap: Wu Xie Unexpectedly Receives Help from Yinshi Luo
In Episode 28, the Zang Hai Flower Field has been destroyed. Wu Xie and Fatty let out a deep sigh, feeling a mix of relief and lingering anxiety after their harrowing mission. Wu Xie is surprised, still feeling uneasy about not encountering the golden ball bugs. Fatty urges him to hurry back home now that their task is complete. However, Hans is unwilling to return empty-handed. The foreigner Feng warns Hans not to continue his reckless pursuit, but Hans orders his men to check for any surviving Zang Hai flowers. At that moment, their soldiers notice something moving beneath the ice.
The golden ball bug eggs are stirring beneath the ice, trying to break free. Driven by greed, Hans throws a grenade at the ice to obtain more samples. Wu Xie and Fatty shout for him to stop, but it's too late. The explosion shatters the ice, and suddenly, the clear sky darkens with storm clouds. A whirlwind rises from the ground, and massive waves crash toward them, accompanied by countless golden ball bugs. Hans fires his gun wildly but ultimately meets a grim fate as a bug slashes his throat, while the remaining crew scatters in panic.
When Wu Xie regains consciousness, he finds himself in a warm room, rescued by the people of Yinshi Luo. They have been taken to safety on the other side of the mountain by Zhang Qi Ling. Wu Xie quickly searches for Fatty, relieved to find him in the same room, though he has injured his leg and has some neck issues.
Wu Xie rushes outside to find a signal but discovers there’s no mobile reception at all. He seeks out the elder of Yinshi Luo, urging them to evacuate immediately as a storm is approaching. The elder remains calm, continuing their work, accustomed to disasters with a strong sense of fatalism. Upon learning that Wu Xie is a friend of Zhang Qi Ling, the elder expresses gratitude, surprised that the proud Zhang Qi Ling has friends, and advises Wu Xie to leave the mountain due to the imminent danger. However, Wu Xie is determined to stay and take responsibility for the storm that they have caused.
Returning to the room, Wu Xie tries to persuade Fatty to leave, but Fatty refuses. As brothers, they must face challenges together. Unexpectedly, Wu Xie encounters Zhang Hai Xing outside the tent, who urges him to descend the mountain, revealing his own decision to stay.
Wu Xie seeks help from Old Feng, a science professor who knows how to confront the coming storm. Together, they analyze the storm's path and plan to enter the eye of the storm, using explosives to break through the whirlwind. Wu Xie and Fatty calculate the minimum number of people needed to enter the eye, reducing their original plan from twenty to seventeen. They witness the courage and determination of the Yinshi Luo people as they sign up to join the suicide squad upon hearing about the impending disaster.
The next day, news arrives from the Yinshi Luo that those sent to scout have not returned, and the storm's speed is increasing. Wu Xie immediately calls for the suicide squad to prepare for an early engagement.
