Episode 32 recap: Cui Xing Zhou Takes Liu Mian Tang Back to Zhenzhou

In this episode, Liu Mian Tang and Cui Xing Zhou are busy preparing for their wedding when suddenly, a royal decree arrives, shaking the Qiao family courtyard. The emperor has decided to grant Liu Mian Tang the title of county princess and has awarded her five hundred households, naming her "Huai Sang." While the title sounds impressive, Liu Mian Tang's aunt privately murmurs that "Huai Sang" doesn't quite have a pleasant ring to it.

However, Cui Xing Zhou hears the news and brightens up, believing the name perfectly suits Liu Mian Tang, adding a touch of gentleness to her character that balances out her previously sharp demeanor.

The Qiao family is busy packing Liu Mian Tang's belongings, preparing her for the journey. Her grandfather holds her hand, visibly reluctant to let her go, while Cui Xing Zhou reassures him that he will take good care of Liu Mian Tang in Zhenzhou.

Meanwhile, the emperor feels a pang of regret upon learning that Liu Mian Tang and Cui Xing Zhou have received their marriage certificate. He had hoped to win Liu Mian Tang back to the palace as his concubine, even reserving a night for her as a potential empress. But now, it seems they are firmly united. Shi Xue Ji watches the developments with concern, quietly serving the emperor tea before discreetly leaving.

Once they arrive in Zhenzhou, Cui Xing Zhou and Liu Mian Tang settle into their newly acquired home. Their neighbors, initially intending to poke fun at Cui Xing Zhou for his limp, quickly realize that Liu Mian Tang is by his side, recognizing the deep bond between the couple and refraining from any jokes.

Cui Xing Zhou's aunt, upon hearing he has returned to Zhenzhou, rushes to the Huai Yang Wang mansion with her daughter, crying and hoping to secure a place for her as a concubine. Cui Xing Zhou's mother, torn about the situation, receives a letter from him expressing his deep love for Liu Mian Tang. He explains how she traveled from afar to support him, and now that she is his bride, he has no intention of taking any concubines.

Upon reading the letter, Cui Xing Zhou's mother is left speechless.

On their wedding night, Cui Xing Zhou feels a bit awkward in front of Liu Mian Tang, but she takes the initiative to invite him to share the bed, and they fall asleep in each other's arms, sweetly content. Reflecting on their journey together, Cui Xing Zhou decides to host a grand wedding banquet.

At the banquet, the usually boisterous neighbors are taken aback to learn that the Huai Yang Wang lives next door. Overwhelmed, they kneel in respect, feeling both admiration and fear for Cui Xing Zhou, who they see as not only a good husband but also a capable warrior.
