Episode 7 recap: # Liu Mian Tang Thrives in Business

In Episode 7, Liu Mian Tang has always held onto a dream: to create unique and eye-catching porcelain. And guess what? She actually made it happen! When she held the freshly made, steaming porcelain in her hands, the joy in her heart was sweeter than honey. Without a second thought, she rushed to the guild, eager to show off her proud creation.

However, when she arrived at the guild, she was met with a cold shoulder. He Er Lang claimed to be sick, but the truth was he didn't want to see her. Liu Mian Tang felt incredibly frustrated, as if she had just eaten bitter herbs. To make matters worse, upon returning home, she heard rumors that she was scheming at the guild, trying to cut in line and sabotage others. What an unjust accusation!

Cui Xing Zhou, Liu Mian Tang's close friend and a man of integrity, was furious when he heard the news. He knew Liu Mian Tang well and understood she would never do such a thing. So, he confronted the official spreading the rumors, insisting he investigate further before making any accusations.

Liu Mian Tang, enraged by the slander, insisted on confronting Prince Huai Yang for an explanation. This made Cui Xing Zhou anxious, as he was hiding his own identity, and going would risk exposing him. But Liu Mian Tang was stubborn and refused to back down. Reluctantly, Cui Xing Zhou agreed to accompany her, warning his subordinates to say he wasn’t there when they arrived.

When they reached the prince’s residence, they were taken aback to find a crowd of guild members kneeling outside, each voicing complaints about Liu Mian Tang's supposed misdeeds. Realizing the situation was dire, Liu Mian Tang instructed the bearers to turn back, planning to wait for a better opportunity.

Not one to easily give up, Liu Mian Tang learned that a certain merchant loved painting and decided to buy an expensive artwork to win him over. This clever move ensured the merchant's ship set sail smoothly, causing other guild members to panic and seek her out. Liu Mian Tang skillfully undermined the trust among them.

The guild leader, hearing that his son was causing trouble and was at odds with Liu Mian Tang, was furious and ordered her to come to the guild the next day. Liu Mian Tang dressed carefully and brought her precious porcelain, stunning everyone upon her arrival. He Er Lang’s father, the guild leader, even praised her skills and acknowledged her success.

Meanwhile, He Er Lang faced his father's wrath and, feeling humiliated, went to Liu Mian Tang's home to cause a scene. Cui Xing Zhou happened to be home, welcomed He Er Lang in, and then “bang!” shut the door behind him. Standing tall, Cui Xing Zhou warned He Er Lang not to act out. Having never faced such intimidation, He Er Lang was taken aback and left in a huff.

From that point on, Liu Mian Tang flourished in the guild, growing her business rapidly. She didn’t forget Cui Xing Zhou’s support and personally prepared a crab roe feast to thank him. Cui Xing Zhou enjoyed the meal immensely, feeling warmth in his heart. Meanwhile, Liu Mian Tang’s comment in the kitchen that “crab roe rice is made for one’s beloved” subtly planted the seeds of affection between them.
