Episode 10 recap: Cheng Miao Miao Visits Qiang Xiao Wa's House
In this episode, Cheng Ya Ya paints a pink lake, unfazed by her teacher's disapproval. "Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist!" she insists. Meanwhile, Cheng Miao Miao is intrigued by Qiang Xiao Wa's home and insists on visiting. Although Qiang Xiao Wa is reluctant, his grandfather warmly welcomes her when he learns that she is a classmate.
Cheng Miao Miao happily hops into their boat cabin. Despite the humble conditions, she is filled with wonder as she explores this new world. Cheng Ya Ya also visits Yuan Shan Qing, bringing toys for Little Zi. During her visit, she discovers that Little Zi, over two years old, still can't speak, which strikes her as odd.
Qiang Xiao Wa's grandfather prepares a feast of seafood for Cheng Miao Miao, who enjoys the meal and has a delightful conversation with him. When she inquires about Qiang Xiao Wa's parents, she unintentionally touches a sensitive subject. It turns out Qiang Xiao Wa was adopted by his grandfather, who worries that Qiang Xiao Wa's stubborn nature might lead to bullying at school. Cheng Miao Miao reassures him that she will protect Qiang Xiao Wa.
After dinner, Little Zi falls asleep, while Yuan Shan Qing and Cheng Ya Ya are still hungry. Cheng Ya Ya plans to fry an egg, but discovers there are no eggs at home. Cheng Miao Miao prepares to take a large amount of seafood back home, promising Qiang Xiao Wa that she'll teach him Mandarin.
Cheng Ya Ya shares her milk powder with Yuan Shan Qing. Later that night, the two girls return home, only to find Jia Dai Yu furious. Cheng Miao Miao decides to give Qiang Xiao Wa her backpack and school uniform, inspired by Gao Fei Yang’s words about being a good person.
Jia Dai Yu scoffs at their efforts, while Cheng Peng Fei tries to guide her. As Cheng Ya Ya flips through books, she senses something is off with Little Zi and resolves to investigate further. Jia Dai Yu complains about helping a wanted criminal and someone from the local area, arguing that their home isn't a place for charity.
Seeing the tension, Cheng Peng Fei takes Jia Dai Yu for a walk. He reminisces about the time Cheng Ya Ya painted a pink lake and leads her to the library to find it, surprisingly discovering that the painting still exists.
So, Cheng Ya Ya has a strong interest in reading and books, which is why studying is so beneficial now. As the two children seek to help others, their parents should support them, hoping they will preserve kindness and justice in their hearts.
Cheng Miao Miao and Qiang Xiao Wa's relationship is rapidly advancing, creating a strong sense of crisis for Li Si. Yuan Shan Qing enters the classroom and shares a smile with Cheng Ya Ya. To assert his claim, Li Si approaches Qiang Xiao Wa to introduce himself and clarify his relationship with Cheng Miao Miao. They’ve grown up together since childhood and have never been apart in seventeen years; Cheng Miao Miao is destined to marry him—this was decided when they were three!
Yuan Shan Qing notices the milk powder and eggs Cheng Ya Ya left on her desk, feeling a warm glow inside. Cheng Miao Miao brings an old desk for Qiang Xiao Wa, seeing he has no desk to do his homework. She also brings Cheng Ya Ya's school uniform and some review materials. However, Qiang Xiao Wa is displeased, feeling her pride is hurt by this gesture. Cheng Miao Miao, having good intentions, is upset at being misunderstood.
Hu Yue is reviewing Yang Song Bai's reimbursement invoices and finds a hotel stay receipt from a day when he was at sea. It turns out Yang Song Bai lent all the money to his ex-wife, which makes Hu Yue even more agitated, demanding they make space for him.
But upon hearing Hu Qiu Min’s return, they both pretend to be harmonious. Later that evening, Hu Qiu Min hears arguing coming from their bedroom, causing her distress. While Li Si and Cheng Miao Miao are trying to comfort her, Qiang Xiao Wa—now with a new haircut—enters the classroom, causing a stir. Gao Fei Yang silently gives Cheng Miao Miao a thumbs up in response to the change.
Hu Qiu Min senses something has definitely happened between Cheng Miao Miao and Qiang Xiao Wa, but both seem unhappy. Suddenly, Yuan Shan Qing is taken away by the police, causing a commotion in the school.
