Episode 6 recap: Li Si and Qiang Xiao Wa's Conflict

In Episode 6, during the scorching summer of 1997, Cheng Ya Ya got into a fight with some other kids and ended up with a nasty bump on her forehead. Cheng Miao Miao, watching from the sidelines, made snarky comments about her brother's lack of fight, while their parents took different sides—one being supportive and the other critical.

Meanwhile, the tension between Li Si and Qiang Xiao Wa escalated to the point where their teacher, Gao Fei Yang, had to intervene. Li Si was in tears, claiming that Qiang Xiao Wa had started it, but Qiang Xiao Wa remained silent for a long moment before muttering, “I don’t have my parents here,” and then apologizing.

Cheng Miao Miao stepped in, suggesting it was all a misunderstanding. She assured them that Teacher Gao understood the situation and warned them to stop their foolishness. Once they left the office, Li Si felt incredibly frustrated—he was clearly the victim, and Cheng Miao Miao wasn’t helping him at all! Cheng Miao Miao had her own issues; she learned that Cheng Ya Ya had been targeted by Luo Zheng, who was retaliating because Cheng Ya Ya helped Yuan Shan Qing. Cheng Ya Ya wasn’t going to take it lying down and fought back.

When they confronted the teacher, Luo Zheng stubbornly refused to admit he was wrong. Cheng Miao Miao was furious to hear that her brother had been hit and wanted to confront him about it. Cheng Ya Ya remained calm, saying it was mutual fighting. Meanwhile, Li Si was trying to corner Qiang Xiao Wa by the bridge for a one-on-one, but Qiang Xiao Wa brought a big dog along, which scared Li Si into retreating.

As soon as Cheng Miao Miao arrived, Li Si backed down even more. After school, he bumped into Guo Ge, a colleague of Li Da Hai, at the arcade, who borrowed eighty bucks from him. Cheng Ya Ya, sporting her injury, lied to her family about how she got it, but Cheng Peng Fei saw right through her.

Guo Ge returned Li Si a hundred bucks, making Li Si even more invested in the games. At school, Li Si and Cheng Ya Ya ended up as cleaning duty partners.

Yuan Shan Qing is always late and struggles to keep up with the class, so Cheng Ya Ya lends her books. As for Qiang Xiao Wa, he forgot to wear shoe covers when he went to the computer lab and got reprimanded by the teacher, deciding to leave instead of attending class. When Cheng Miao Miao heard about this, she picked up a dumbbell to confront Qiang Xiao Wa, but fortunately, she was stopped. Qiang Xiao Wa remained unchanged, refusing to change clothes or get a haircut. Teacher Xiao scolded him for a long time, but he didn’t say a word, and in the end, it was Teacher Gao who came to the rescue.

Cheng Peng Fei was busy at work when he heard that his brother-in-law had been in a car accident, so he rushed over to help. When he arrived, he found Jia Bao Shan getting into a fight with the other party and refusing to leave the hospital, hoping to extort more money. Li Si got angry when he ran into Qiang Xiao Wa, and Jia Bao Shan dragged him along to handle things, and the two quickly teamed up to have some fun.

In the office, there was a good opportunity for Niu Ling Ling and Li Da Hai to use backdoor connections, but Li Da Hai didn’t want to be gossiped about. To help secure Li Da Hai’s future, Niu Ling Ling stayed with him, drinking until three in the morning.

Yang Tao sent Hu Qiu Min a bunch of tapes, while Cheng Miao Miao was stressed out about running for class president. Li Si and Jia Bao Shan dressed like little delinquents and went to the casino, but Jia Bao Shan wouldn’t let Li Si in and made him wait outside. Meanwhile, Niu Ling Ling and the others encountered a scammer, Wan Zi Liang, while getting their hair permed, leading to a chase down the street that ended with them uncovering his hideout.

In the end, Li Si couldn’t resist his curiosity and sneaked into the casino, only to find Qiang Xiao Wa there as well. Li Si was fascinated by everything inside, while Qiang Xiao Wa, knowing it wasn’t a good place, surprisingly tried to stop him. These two kids really are a handful!
