Episode 7 recap: Jia Dai Yu's Discontent with Jia Bao Shan
In Episode 7, when they were children, Jia Dai Yu and Hu Qiu Min were bullied, and Li Si promised to protect them, marking the beginning of their tight-knit trio. One day, the police raided the casino and arrested everyone inside, including Jia Bao Shan. Jia Dai Yu and her friends managed to capture a scammer and brought him to the police station, only to find Jia Bao Shan there as well.
Cheng Miao Miao rushed in to ask Li Si and Qiang Xiao Wa what was happening, and both felt unjustly accused. Niu Ling Ling was furious and wished the police would arrest Li Si to teach him a lesson. After leaving the police station, Qiang Xiao Wa told Li Si in local dialect that many people in their village had lost everything because of that casino, but Li Si didn’t seem to take it seriously.
Jia Dai Yu went home and scolded Jia Bao Shan, declaring that he was not allowed to come around anymore. It was one thing for him to gamble alone, but bringing along a student like Li Si was unacceptable! When Li Si got home, he faced punishment from Niu Ling Ling, and his allowance was cut off. Jia Bao Shan left early the next morning, but Jia Dai Yu's anger was still simmering.
Cheng Miao Miao believed that Qiang Xiao Wa had saved Li Si twice and felt that one must show gratitude. She had initially promised to help Qiang Xiao Wa join their group, and if she failed to do so, it could impact the votes for class leader. Over the next few days, Cheng Miao Miao kept hovering around Qiang Xiao Wa, who tried to avoid her as much as possible.
Although Cheng Miao Miao was frustrated, she never wavered in her feelings. During a long-distance run in gym class, Qiang Xiao Wa sprinted ahead to take the lead, but Li Si, feeling competitive, quickly overtook him. Qiang Xiao Wa remained unfazed, even as Xiao Wan approached Gao Fei Yang, warning him that failure to change could lead to serious consequences.
Gao Fei Yang was under a lot of pressure and could only find Qiang Xiao Wa after school to ask him for a haircut. He had also arranged with the logistics team about the school uniforms, but Qiang Xiao Wa still acted indifferent. Li Si and Cheng Miao Miao went to the bookstore together to gather materials for an upcoming exam, but as they browsed, they ended up getting lost in novels and started chatting about their first loves.
In their playful banter, Cheng Miao Miao inadvertently picked up on a topic about Li Si's father. One night, Li Da Hai returned home drunk and was found crying in the hallway, clutching a photograph of a girl named Bai Shuang. This led Li Si to believe that his father abandoned Bai Shuang to be with Niu Ling Ling because Niu Ling Ling's father was a leader.
On the day of the class leader election, Cheng Miao Miao made a point to greet Qiang Xiao Wa and asked him to vote for her. During the election for class officers, Cheng Ya Ya surprisingly suggested that Luo Zheng become the sports representative, shocking everyone. Cheng Miao Miao didn't succeed in her bid for class leader, receiving only one vote, which left her feeling very downcast.
Gao Fei Yang heard about this and called her to his office to offer some words of encouragement. Cheng Miao Miao cried, feeling quite wronged. Soon, however, she decided it didn't matter if she didn't become class leader; she still wanted to help Qiang Xiao Wa, and she gained the support of Li Si and Hu Qiu Min.
Li Si approached Qiang Xiao Wa with the offer of a free haircut, but Qiang Xiao Wa dismissed it, claiming his family was poor. The three of them gathered together, feeling frustrated and at a loss. Then, during the oil field's sports event, Cheng Miao Miao and Li Si were suddenly called to the bridge—something had happened to Hu Qiu Min!
