Episode 11 recap: Ep11

In Episode 11, we meet Zhao Minghao, a 19-year-old dreamer who leaves his rural home to move to the city and live with his uncle, affectionately known as Monkey Brother...Without hesitation, Monkey Brother finds him a job at a taxi company and has an experienced worker named Shuanzi show him around, cautioning, “Kid, be sharp from now on; keep your eyes open!”

The next morning, Jiang Xiaohai comes downstairs and finds Zhao Minghao staring blankly at a car. It turns out he doesn't know how to drive yet. Shuanzi is frustrated, but Jiang Xiaohai, feeling sympathetic, decides to teach Zhao Minghao to drive himself.

As they drive and chat, Jiang Xiaohai learns that Zhao Minghao is a college dropout who took up a job to ease his family's financial burden. He also discovers that Zhao Minghao has a habit of recording everything, filling a notebook with various transaction locations. Frowning, Jiang Xiaohai tears the notebook in half and sternly advises, “Kid, in this line of work, you need to keep things in your head—safety first!”

Meanwhile, the Red Dragon gang continues to wreak havoc in Qin Yi's entertainment venue. Zheng Bei and his team suspect that the gang has switched to more covert methods of transporting drugs. Ding Guozhu intercepts a few mysterious text messages from Er Jin, and Gu Yiran suddenly realizes these might be codes used by the drug dealers. They decide they need to find the “codebook” to crack the messages.

After some investigation, they discover that the magazine *Story Meeting* is the so-called “codebook.” Once decoded, the delivery location points to the East Iron Vegetable Market. Zheng Bei quickly pulls out a terrain map to plan their operation, but Ding Guozhu surprises everyone by producing a hand-drawn map, cheerfully revealing that his parents sell vegetables there and that he knows the area better than anyone.

The special task force quietly infiltrates the market, with Ding Guozhu leading the way to a prime observation spot. Soon, Zhao Minghao appears, carrying a basket full of carrots. At first glance, it seems ordinary, but there's hidden significance. Zheng Bei signals for everyone to remain cautious and continue observing.

Just as they prepare to withdraw, a burly man with a cleaver rushes in, escalating the tension. In a critical moment, Ding Guozhu steps forward and calls out “Mom and Dad,” revealing that the man is, in fact, his father. The atmosphere becomes awkward yet heartwarming as Ding Guozhu's parents warmly invite everyone to their home for dinner, where laughter fills the air and stories from Ding Guozhu’s childhood are shared.

However, midway through the meal, Zheng Bei receives a call from Lao Xiong: Zhao Minghao is in trouble! The team rushes to the scene, only to find Zhao Minghao collapsed on the roadside, carrots scattered around him, and beside him lies a torn notebook, severing their lead.

Meanwhile, Monkey Brother and Jiang Xiaohai are enjoying food at a barbecue stall, casually burning Zhao Minghao's ID, seemingly indifferent to the chaos around them.

On another front, Zheng Nan and her friends encounter trouble at a nightclub. Three drunken men approach with ill intentions, trying to lure them with drugs. Thanks to her training with the task force, Zheng Nan quickly identifies the red pill for what it is. She attempts to devise an escape plan but inadvertently exposes the pill, provoking the drunkards.

In a desperate attempt to protect herself, Zheng Nan reveals that her brother is a police officer, which only enrages the men further. Ultimately, she is force-fed the drugs.

These events strengthen the resolve of the task force members to combat crime, while Zhao Minghao’s tragedy serves as a stark reminder that every step in this battle is fraught with uncertainty and danger.
