Episode 6 recap: Glass Factory Boss Qin Yi Involved in Crime and Drugs
In Episode 6, Xin Tie Gang accidentally trips and falls while carrying a large jar of pickled vegetables, leading to a concussion and a swift trip to the hospital. This incident prompts Gu Yi Ran to uncover the truth behind Xin Tie’s old leg injury. Years ago, while on a mission with his partner and apprentice Zheng Bei, Xin Tie encountered two mysterious individuals on motorcycles.
Upon seeing the police uniforms in the car, the assailants immediately opened fire, resulting in the tragic death of Xin Tie’s partner and a gunshot wound to Xin Tie's leg. Zheng Bei bravely fought back but was unable to save his partner.
Meanwhile, the Monkey Gang struggles to retrieve their goods following the death of Ah Liang and the police's pursuit. Brother Er Jin visits the Yifeng Taxi Company to report to the behind-the-scenes boss, Qin Yi—the glass factory owner and Jiang Xiao Hai's godfather. While Qin Yi appears friendly, he is actually a major supplier of "Red Dragon" ecstasy, with influence in both legal and illegal circles.
After the Red Dragon deal falls through, Er Jin decides to eliminate Ah Liang to keep things under wraps. However, Zheng Bei's involvement leads to significant losses for the gang. Experienced and astute, Qin Yi senses an impending crackdown on drugs in Halan City and orders a halt to retail activities to maintain a low profile.
Confident in the stability of the meth market, Er Jin believes the police are only focusing on Red Dragon. The special investigation team, led by Zhang Xue Yao and Ding Guo Zhu, takes a keen interest in the Qin Yi case. Zheng Bei connects the caffeine-laced Red Dragon to signs of drug use, identifying train officer Zhang Tianxiao, from whom they successfully seize "pistachio" drugs.
Zhang Tianxiao reveals details about his delivery operations with Ah Liang's gang, exposing a hidden network for drug transportation. Brother Er Jin tightens internal discipline and eliminates dissenters while negotiating with Qin Yi and another big player, Brother Hao, to ensure continued cooperation. It turns out that Qin Yi had already made a deal with Brother Hao to eliminate Ah Liang for the sake of their partnership.
The special investigation team infiltrates a KTV for further investigation. Gu Yi Ran and Zheng Bei cleverly disguise themselves, using the properties of ecstasy and sunglasses to blend in. Meanwhile, Zhang Xue Yao and Zhao Xiao Guang feign drunkenness to gather intel but inadvertently stumble upon illegal activities. Zhang Xue Yao impulsively intervenes, causing chaos, but the police manage to step in just in time.
Afterward, although Zheng Bei sternly criticizes Zhang Xue Yao, he also compassionately offers her a late-night snack, advising her to remain calm. Zhang Xue Yao feels deeply touched by Zheng Bei's care and guidance, reinforcing her sense of duty and conviction.
