Episode 9 recap: Undercover Operation Against Drug Dealers
In Episode 9, the undercover team members slipped into the luxurious Blue Aurora Club, which was decked out like an Egyptian palace. Zheng Bei, always the schemer, noticed how absurdly expensive everything was and suspected something was off. He cleverly swapped out the liquor bottles for tea, making them look identical to real alcohol, which fooled many people.
Zheng Bei pretended to be drunk, putting on an act so convincing that he stumbled upon a shocking scene: ecstasy pills were casually placed on the dining table alongside snacks and drinks—completely outrageous! Meanwhile, Jiang Xiao Hai’s brother-in-law, Wang Jianmin, was there with the factory director to discuss business. They had planned to bond over drinks, but the other party threw them a curveball by bringing drugs and even pressuring Wang Jianmin to use them. To make matters worse, they also tried to involve the club’s women.
Just then, the club’s manager appeared, intervening on behalf of the women. He suggested that if they really needed it, they could find professional services for substance use. However, the factory director's arrogant demeanor displeased the manager, who ordered his men to "handle" the situation swiftly and cleanly.
Meanwhile, Gu Yi Ran and Zhao Xiao Guang were mingling with the chaotic crowd when they spotted someone slipping drugs into the drinks of two women. Gu Yi Ran quickly devised a plan, pretending to be drunk and accidentally bumping into the offender. Although he spilled the drink, it angered the drug dealers, who began chasing them.
As they fought their way out, Zhao Xiao Guang protected Gu Yi Ran, but it looked like they were about to be overwhelmed. Suddenly, Gu Yi Ran turned back, wielding a crowbar, and took advantage of the distraction to escape with Zhao Xiao Guang. The drug lord was not ready to let them go and surrounded them with his men. In a moment of quick thinking, Gu Yi Ran kicked over an oil barrel, sending sparks flying and creating a wall of fire that startled the drug dealers. It turned out, Gu Yi Ran had set up this makeshift "fire trap" beforehand.
Although the fire temporarily blocked the drug dealers, it wasn't a lasting solution, and the flames were beginning to die down. Zhao Xiao Guang urged Gu Yi Ran to escape, but just then, Zheng Bei arrived with Zhang Xue Yao and Ding Guo Zhu. Excited to jump into the fray, Zhang Xue Yao charged at the drug dealers. Before long, the police arrived, turning the scene into total chaos.
Zheng Bei, trying to blend in with the drug lord, managed to extract the information that the drugs sold at Blue Aurora Club were called "Snow Angels." Later, he scolded Zhang Xue Yao for being reckless, leaving Zhang Xue Yao confused while Gu Yi Ran understood the real meaning behind the reprimand.
After this harrowing experience, Zhao Xiao Guang was in complete awe of Gu Yi Ran. On the other side, Jiang Ying Zi was busy preparing dinner for her daughter, planning to take her to piano lessons, when she received a call about Wang Jianmin's injury. Furious, she slammed her knife into the cutting board.
At the hospital, seeing Wang Jianmin injured yet trying to comfort her made Jiang Ying Zi feel a mix of warmth and pain, igniting a fierce determination to uncover those behind the attack. Back in the hospital room, Gu Yi Ran decided to stay and care for Zhao Xiao Guang, while Zheng Nan also expressed a desire to stay.
Zheng Bei and the others left first, and as the elevator doors opened, they bumped into a hurried Jiang Ying Zi. Both had their own plans in mind as they passed each other. Once in the hospital room, Jiang Ying Zi instructed someone to find Er Jin and sat by Wang Jianmin's bedside, feeling a whirlwind of emotions.
