Soon, Gu Laosan drunkenly stormed into the school, claiming that Zhang hadn't paid him monthly and insisting that Gu Yu must earn money to support her brother instead of getting married. Chen Sihai intervened, managing to persuade Gu Laosan to leave the school to avoid disrupting the students. Under the scrutiny of everyone, Gu Yu felt embarrassed and ashamed. The school had no extra funds, and the cafeteria was closed to them unless they paid for meals.
Zhang Guimei still hadn't received any money. She went to see General Manager Guo with a banner in hand, only to be deliberately stopped by the receptionist and sent away empty-handed. After Wu's insistence, Ma and Zhou reluctantly drove away. Moved by Master Cai's heartfelt words, Liu realized the importance of both road construction and children's education. Therefore, after touring the highway site, he skipped lunch and headed straight to Huaping County Girls’ High School.
