Episode 19 recap: All Students of Huaping Girls' High School Online

In Episode 19, the students of Huaping Girls' High School are taking their exams, while Zhang Guimei and the teachers wait anxiously by the roadside. As time passes, Zhang Guimei can't help but feel restless. When the students finish their exams, she joyfully embraces them and promises to treat them to a nice meal. On the day the results are announced, Chen Sihai reads out each student’s name along with their scores. Liu Xiying and Ning Hua both achieve over 500 points, while Cai Guizhi and Gu Yu rank among the top scorers. Zhang Guimei and the others are so overjoyed they don’t know how to express their excitement.

Suddenly, Zhang Guimei is awakened by the teachers and students. It turns out she had fallen asleep outside the exam hall, dreaming. The students quietly watch her, feeling sympathy for their dedicated teacher. Knowing the exams are over, Zhang Guimei tells everyone to stop thinking about test-related matters, not to worry about scores or predictions, and to have fun freely.

Back at school, Zhang Guimei feels lonely, sitting silently in her office. Fang Qiong comes by, understanding her sadness as the first graduating class prepares to leave. She encourages Zhang Guimei to say goodbye to the students, but Zhang, with mixed emotions, declines. When the teaching building falls silent, Zhang Guimei takes a flashlight and walks to the classroom, gently touching the desks, tears welling up in her eyes.

Suddenly, a sweet melody fills the air. Peering out the window, Zhang Guimei sees a hundred graduating students standing on the playground, holding candles and singing. Overcome with emotion, she steps out of the building, and the teachers follow. With open arms, she welcomes the students, who rush to embrace her.

Tears flow as the children express their reluctance to leave the school and their beloved teacher. Zhang Guimei lovingly touches their faces and short hair, remembering how she brought each of them back from the mountains three years ago. After spending so much time together, how could she bear to let them go? Yet every gathering must end. The reason she did all this was to give the children a chance to explore a wider world, so she doesn’t need them to visit often—just a message to say they are okay will suffice.

The students worry they won’t see their cherished teachers again. Ding Xiaoxiao insists that as long as Huaping Girls' High School stands, she will too. Yao Xiaoshan also expresses his commitment, having already confessed his feelings to Teacher Wei. The classmates cheer for them. A bus is waiting outside, and with Zhang Guimei urging them on, the graduating students reluctantly leave the school. Once she realizes the news is true, she laughs uncontrollably, collapsing in joy, while Fang Qiong shares her happiness, also laughing until she falls to the ground.

Back in the mountains, the students receive their acceptance letters one by one, and the villagers excitedly share the news. Gu Yu warns her drunken father that she will find a way to repay Teacher Zhang's debt and that he shouldn’t push his luck. Ning Hua gets accepted into a military academy, and her grandfather proudly shows off to the neighbors. When Ding Xiaoxiao returns home, her father sincerely congratulates her. As an educator, he expresses his respect for her achievements, and her mother adds that after Principal Ding retires, they will visit Huaping together.
