Episode 7 recap: Strict Military Training Management for Students
In Episode 7, as everyone busily prepares learning supplies for the students, the family of Master Cai stands out. Master Cai and his wife bring their daughter, Cai Guizhi, to school, and they solemnly promise that there will be no more domestic violence in the future, which brings great relief to Principal Zhang Guimei. Meanwhile, classmate Gu Yu takes special notice of the new student, Cai Guizhi. Although she tries to engage in friendly conversation, she finds Cai Guizhi to be shy and hard to approach.
On another note, the unexpected visit from classmate Liu Xiying surprises everyone. She seeks temporary housing at the school due to damage to her home and hopes to continue her studies.
As night falls, the dormitory buzzes with life. Gu Yu, Ning Hua, Cai Guizhi, and Liu Xiying gather to share their stories. When Ning Hua learns that Liu Xiying is from the Lisu ethnic group, she excitedly asks her to sing. Unfortunately, the beautiful melody is abruptly cut off by a sudden lights-out announcement.
In this small world, Teacher Yao Xiaoshan, the only male instructor, not only teaches but also takes on the responsibility of ensuring the girls' safety, including accompanying them to the restroom at night, often sacrificing his own rest to stay on duty.
In the morning, Principal Zhang Guimei organizes a solemn oath-taking ceremony for all the girls in the square. Unexpectedly, the national anthem plays, and everyone sings together, creating a moving scene.
The first exam that follows is a significant challenge for the girls, especially since their English scores are generally poor. However, Principal Zhang firmly opposes the idea of tracking classes, insisting on not giving up on any child.
In the dorm, the girls have varying opinions about their grades. Ning Hua’s optimistic attitude becomes a source of support for everyone, while Cai Guizhi, having missed a year of school, struggles with her grades but refuses to give up.
Liu Xiying humorously refers to herself as the “lowest-ranking ethnic group,” yet she feels proud to understand Chinese characters.
Faced with the challenge of no cafeteria in the new campus, Principal Zhang actively communicates with the principal of Nan Zhong School and ultimately decides to share cafeteria resources between the two schools. However, this creates a new issue: the girls often miss mealtimes due to arriving late. To address this, Principal Zhang personally supervises the schedule, aiming for efficiency from wake-up to meals and restroom breaks. She even sets the wake-up time as early as five o’clock.
In the initial implementation, everyone struggles to adapt, particularly Liu Xiying, whose slower pace often holds them back. Thankfully, Ning Hua helps her, though they end up missing the cafeteria meals. At this point, Cai Guizhi uses her cleverness to devise a "staggered meal plan," guiding everyone on how to avoid peak times and manage their schedules effectively. This initiative quickly proves successful, not only solving the girls' meal issues but also earning the envy of Nan Zhong students.
Seeing the girls follow the plan with order, Principal Zhang feels a deep sense of satisfaction. The staggered meal plan not only boosts efficiency but also enhances the students' self-management skills and teamwork spirit. All these changes stem from a dedication to education and a profound hope for each child's future.
