Episode 10 recap: Zhao Kai Privatizes Shidai Logistics
In Episode 10, Xing Wen Hao not only managed to push Xu Dao Ming out but also secretly sowed discord between Song Qiao and Zhao Kai, leading Song Qiao to start doubting Zhao Kai. To make matters worse, he was pulling strings behind the scenes with some board members, spreading lies that Zhao Kai was embezzling company funds and taking kickbacks. When news broke that Zhao Kai wanted to invest in drones, the shareholders erupted in outrage. Seizing the moment, Xing Wen Hao incited them to oust Zhao Kai.
Surprisingly, the board members fell for Xing Wen Hao's manipulations, eagerly nodding in agreement. Xu Dao Ming, however, wasn't easily fooled. Upon discovering that Song Qiao and Zhao Kai were meeting in secret, he sensed something was off. A little digging revealed that Zhao Kai had enlisted Song Qiao to quietly purchase company stock.
Xu Dao Ming confronted Song Qiao directly, and she candidly admitted that she didn’t care whether the Sky City drone project went public; she was primarily using the opportunity to gauge Xing Wen Hao's true intentions. As a result, Xing Wen Hao's schemes were exposed, prompting Song Qiao to strategize about taking control of the company for herself.
On the day of the board meeting, Xing Wen Hao thought he had the upper hand and aimed to take Zhao Kai down. However, Zhao Kai brought in Fang Fang, turning the tables. The vote ended in a tie at 4-4, but according to the rules, Zhao Kai remained chairman. Seizing the opportunity, Zhao Kai announced his plan to privatize the company by buying out the other shareholders' stocks.
Seeing the stock price continually rise, the shareholders were reluctant to sell. Zhao Kai warned them that if they didn't sell, they could forget about future dividends.
Naturally, the shareholders were unhappy, and just as they were about to sell, Xing Wen Hao reappeared as the "good guy," offering to buy their stocks while secretly plotting to eliminate Zhao Kai. However, Zhao Kai had anticipated this; he intentionally raised the purchase price to drain Xing Wen Hao’s funds.
Ultimately, Zhao Kai announced a halt in stock trading, leading to a direct delisting, which completely thwarted Xing Wen Hao's plans. Meanwhile, Fang Fang represented Shidai Logistics in a meeting with Chengfeng Capital. Song Qiao had hoped to secure additional investment to support the drone development and ease the company's financial burden. But Zhao Kai flatly refused, arguing that the drone project was nearing success and that bringing in outsiders would only complicate matters.
Frustrated, Song Qiao urged Fang Fang to confirm this with Zhao Kai, but Fang Fang insisted she was acting on Zhao Kai’s orders and had full authority. Song Qiao felt a surge of anger; she had always believed she was Zhao Kai’s top priority, yet now a younger woman was overshadowing her.
After the meeting, she confronted Zhao Kai, but he defended Fang Fang, leading to a heated argument. In the end, Zhao Kai relented, stating that if Song Qiao could find an investor without interfering in project decisions, he would agree. Song Qiao felt deeply wronged; she believed her efforts to find investors were to help Zhao Kai, yet he remained ungrateful and accused her of misunderstanding him. Zhao Kai sighed, lamenting that their mutual lack of understanding had led them to the brink of divorce.
