Episode 21 recap: Zeng Cheng and Sun Han Han Join Forces
In Episode 21, Lawyer Hu, the boss of Han Su, decides to develop in Jiangzhou, and Han Su eagerly requests to accompany him. When Lawyer Hu questions why not choose Hong Kong, which seems more promising, Han Su candidly replies that she initially came for him as a great boss. Now that he is headed to Jiangzhou, she naturally wants to follow.
Touched by her loyalty, Lawyer Hu gladly agrees to bring Han Su along. Before they leave, Zhong Shu visits Han Su with homemade pastries, and while they enjoy their time together, the bittersweet feeling of parting looms over them. Upon arriving in Jiangzhou, Han Su is picked up by Zeng Cheng right after getting off the plane. Despite her insistence that she doesn't need a ride, Zeng Cheng has urgent news to share.
Zeng Cheng plays a recording sent by Sun Han Han, which deeply disappoints Han Su regarding Zhou Bin's character, calling him "scum." Zeng Cheng, feeling heavy-hearted, asks Han Su if she has ever experienced the despair of being drenched in cold water during winter; each time she listens to the recording, her heart feels colder.
Discussing their future plans, Zeng Cheng is determined to get a divorce—not only to end her relationship but also to leave Zhou Bin with nothing. Regarding Sun Han Han, Zeng Cheng believes their relationship is more about mutual use than camaraderie. Sun Han Han’s cleverness lies in helping Zeng Cheng break free from Zhou Bin while winning her gratitude.
News of Han Su's return quickly reaches He Zhi Nan, who eagerly inquires about Han Su's whereabouts and personally visits her, only to find out that she lives directly across from her. It turns out Han Su used to live there and has rented it again through an agent. When discussing Qu Yi Peng, they speculate that he and Han Su might have known each other for a long time.
During dinner, they opt for street food, and the conversation shifts to Gao Peng. Han Su reveals that Gao Peng has been busy working at a printing factory and has lost quite a bit of weight. Han Su remembers adding Luo Ma on WeChat during a bar game, and now they are colleagues. Luo Ma bluntly states that he came to the firm for Han Su and asks if he can pursue her. Han Su politely declines, citing her lack of interest in dating at the moment but assures him she won’t interfere with his personal life.
Meanwhile, Wang Zi Lu demands compensation from He Zhi Nan for unlocking his phone to pay medical bills without permission, even following her around until she concedes. Determined not to back down, He Zhi Nan decides to investigate Wang Zi Lu’s background and learns from a friend at the bar that he is an art exam student with some influence on the A Dou forum. She decides to take the initiative by spreading Wang Zi Lu's contact information online and even applies to be his writer, hoping to observe this mysterious figure more closely.
At the same time, Zeng Cheng meets with Sun Han Han and introduces her to Lawyer Wang as a representative for her divorce case. Sun Han Han manipulates Zhou Bin's weaknesses, making him cover shopping expenses, indirectly revealing this to He Zhi Nan.
Gao Peng quietly returns to Jiangzhou, taking Han Su to taste local snacks and revealing that he has been hesitant to contact He Zhi Nan out of fear. Han Su listens in silence, while He Zhi Nan uniquely "retaliates" against Wang Zi Lu, subtly changing the dynamics of their relationships amidst these unfolding events.
