Episode 14 recap: A Million Hopes to Recover Memories
In Episode 14, Jing Yuan has already consumed the snow lotus, but the situation remains dire. The doctor confirms that the snow lotus has had an effect, but the current state is clearly a scheme by those who injured the master. They intentionally lured the master into taking the snow lotus, and now Jing Yuan cannot use his powers. He realizes that they are restricting his movements.
Later, Jing Yuan privately asks Zi Jing about Ah Chu. Zi Jing explains that at the time, she couldn't be certain and wanted to execute Ah Chu directly. Jing Yuan refuses to listen, reminding her that as the Snow Moon Envoy, she shouldn't act unilaterally. Zi Jing understands, and Jing Yuan decides to set that matter aside for now, insisting that their next steps must be foolproof. He then asks Zi Jing to bring Qing Yun, but Zi Jing informs him that the young master hasn't returned!
Meanwhile, Bai Wan and Qu Zheng are chatting when news arrives that the young master of the Ninefold Abyss has come to the Qin Listening Courtyard with various martial arts figures. Bai Wan understands he has come to see her and wants to clarify things directly. However, Qu Zheng insists on handling it himself. Before Qu Zheng arrives, Miss Su has already shown up and speaks on his behalf. When Qu Zheng finally appears, the other party continues to press for answers. Qu Zheng instructs his men to protect Miss Su, and everyone forms a defensive formation.
Bai Wan is anxious. When Su Zhuo Zhuo and Qu Zheng return together, she feels conflicted. Su Zhuo Zhuo mentions she needs to speak to Qu Zheng privately, which is actually about his health. Bai Wan misinterprets this and secretly peeks through the door. Eventually, Su Zhuo Zhuo steps forward to declare that she no longer has feelings for Qu Zheng. Bai Wan is grateful for this, but they have little to discuss. Su Zhuo Zhuo then reveals she has news about Jin Mu Qiu, leading Bai Wan to learn that Jin Mu Qiu has separated from Ling Feng.
At this point, the valley master and his wife are upset over Jin Mu Qiu’s actions. Ling Feng takes full responsibility, stating that it is his fault. He vows to bring Qiu'er back and punish her according to the rules of Taoyuan Valley. The wife is furious, and the valley master tells Ling Feng that he must keep his promise. Soon, Ling Feng receives news about Jin Mu Qiu: she has returned to the Jin Family Escort Bureau and is now writing a story, portraying him as the villain! Bai Wan worries for her, feeling trapped and unable to leave, while Qu Zheng offers to help.
Meanwhile, Jin Mu Qiu is locked away in her room, writing her story. The merchants outside are anxious, and the head of the escort fears for his daughter’s well-being. Ling Feng arrives, insisting on taking her back to Taoyuan Valley, but Jin Mu Qiu refuses to listen and even signs a contract titled "Shamelessly Defying Ling Feng," before retreating to her room. Ling Feng continues to confront her, but his words only blame Jin Mu Qiu. Angry, she asserts that their separation was never a joke and that she has no desire to return! Jin Mu Qiu feels tortured, while Ling Feng reflects on the situation. Suddenly, a scream from Jin Mu Qiu echoes through the air.
At the Qin Listening Courtyard, Qing Yun has been taken back by Zi Jing, and Bai Wan finally meets her beloved Miss Jin. They discuss Bai Wan’s support for Jin Mu Qiu’s separation, but Bai Wan longs to leave. Jin Mu Qiu wishes that Bai Wan could recover her memories, and their eyes light up at the thought. They turn to Su Zhuo Zhuo, whose attitude is not encouraging. Bai Wan then seeks Qu Zheng’s help, but his methods prove ineffective. Ultimately, the two women manage to sway Su Zhuo Zhuo using the story of Qiu'er, and she finally relents.
Qu Zheng, however, knows that she won't regain her memories because she hasn’t actually lost them; Jing Yuan has sealed them away! Only the Ling Yao Grass can break the seal!
