Episode 18 recap: Million Takes Jin Mu Qiu to Wu Lake Manor
In Episode 18, Lin Feng hasn’t given up on finding Jin Mu Qiu. He stands on her usual path, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. At that moment, Jin Mu Qiu is walking with Million and Su Zhuo Zhuo. Million has finally recognized Qu Zheng's true nature and now only wants to obtain the Ling Yao grass. Su Zhuo Zhuo and Jin Mu Qiu assure Million that they will stay by her side.
Eventually, Lin Feng encounters Jin Mu Qiu. Although she cares for him, she is unwilling to return with him. Million and Su Zhuo Zhuo believe it’s Lin Feng’s fault, so the three of them walk away without acknowledging him. Nevertheless, Lin Feng continues to silently follow them.
The trio arrives at a snack stall where they discover their favorite pastries available. Coincidentally, Lin Feng is also at the stall, and it's clear that someone orchestrated this encounter, but the three decide to ignore him. Meanwhile, at the Nine Layers of Yōu Palace, Qing Yun reminisces about his time with A Chu. Zi Jing approaches him with a task from the palace master: to represent the Nine Layers of Yōu Palace at the Wu Lake Conference. Initially reluctant, Qing Yun changes his mind when Zi Jing mentions that the grand prize is the Ling Yao grass, which could help A Chu recover her memory. Zi Jing conveys the message and leaves.
Later, Zi Jing reports back to Jing Yuan, who wonders why this task was assigned to Qing Yun. Jing Yuan plans to position Zi Jing as a judge in the competition and insists that Qu Zheng must reach the finals!
Meanwhile, Million and her friends encounter a thief, and Lin Feng comes to their aid. Grateful, they agree to let Lin Feng protect them. They quickly arrive at the Wu Lake Conference venue and split up, with Jin Mu Qiu and Lin Feng staying together.
Million starts to wander around and unexpectedly finds the booth where she had drawn a marriage fortune earlier. The proprietor recognizes her and asks where her husband is. Just as Million is about to draw another fortune, Qu Zheng appears! Stunned, Million denies that he is her husband. Qu Zheng argues that they are both here for the conference, making them competitors. While they chat, Yu Chen arrives with his usual unpleasant demeanor. Qu Zheng retorts sharply, and soon, people from the Nine Layers of Yōu Palace arrive to support Qu Zheng’s stance. Surprisingly, Jing Yuan asks Million if she knows him, and she claims she doesn’t before leaving.
Million thinks to herself that Qu Zheng won’t let her off so easily. Later, Qu Zheng confronts her again, arguing that it's only natural for the Qinting Academy to rank highly, but for a newcomer like her, it won’t be easy to achieve that! Million heads straight to her room.
Meanwhile, Jin Mu Qiu and Lin Feng are still on the street. Lin Feng mentions wanting to help Jin Mu Qiu participate in the Wu Lake Conference, which initially makes her happy. However, when he brings up returning to Taoyuan Valley, she asks if he wants her to go back or if he needs to report back. Lin Feng claims it's his own desire, but then adds something about his parents, leaving Jin Mu Qiu disappointed, and she refuses him again.
Back in her room, Million is lost in thought when someone knocks on the door. Initially thinking it’s Qu Zheng, she opens it to find Qing Yun, who says the palace master wants to see her! Million surprisingly follows him. Meanwhile, Qu Zheng learns that Million has been summoned to Wu Lake Manor, and he becomes worried.
