Episode 21 recap: Jin Mu Qiu and Lin Feng's Lifelong Separation

In Episode 21, on that day, Yu Chen's men came to confront the situation. Before anything was clarified, Bai Wan stepped in front of Qu Zheng and firmly declared that Qu Zheng was not that kind of person. Her trust was pure and unwavering, despite the lack of solid evidence. Qu Zheng watched this unfold, feeling warm inside, and chimed in, demanding that they present real proof.

As both sides remained locked in argument, people from the Jiu Chong You Palace arrived just in time to quell the dispute. Following this, Jing Yuan arranged for Su Zhuo Zhuo to conduct an autopsy. After her examination, Su Zhuo Zhuo confirmed that Yu Chen had died from a powerful palm technique, which had nothing to do with Qu Zheng, who was known for his musical talent.

When Jing Yuan inquired about clues to the murderer, Su Zhuo Zhuo humbly stated that her role was solely to perform the autopsy, and further investigation was needed from the Jiu Chong You Palace. Jing Yuan merely smiled at her response and said nothing more. Ultimately, they announced the autopsy results together, clearing Qu Zheng's name and allowing Bai Wan to finally relax.

Bai Wan's understanding of Qu Zheng went beyond that incident. She discovered that Qu Zheng was refined and honest with her. Qu Zheng candidly revealed that the scripture was a trap he had set to uncover the truth behind the Xu family's massacre years ago. Although he did not witness Yu Chen's death firsthand, he was aware that it was closely tied to the Pu Yuan Zhen Jing, with someone using it for sinister purposes.

Bai Wan suddenly realized she had been wrong to blame Qu Zheng. He, however, took it in stride, stating that as long as the truth was revealed, that was what mattered. He expressed his unwavering belief that Bai Wan would stand by him, as they were the ones who understood each other best. This made Bai Wan blush, and she shyly left.

Meanwhile, Jin Mu Qiu was worried about Bai Wan's safety when Lin Feng appeared at the right moment. He recognized his mistakes, sincerely apologized to Jin Mu Qiu, and promised to respect her choices and efforts more in the future. To Jin Mu Qiu's surprise, Lin Feng's mother also declared she would no longer interfere in her life. However, the good times were short-lived; shortly after Lin Feng left Jin Mu Qiu, he learned that his mother had gone to see her, which sent him into a panic about the potential fallout.

Sure enough, when he arrived, the situation had spiraled out of control. Jin Mu Qiu realized that everything was part of Lin Feng's arrangement and, in her anger, decided to separate from him publicly, demanding that the entire martial world witness it. The next day, they faced off on the arena, with Jin Mu Qiu using the separation as a wager, vowing to end their relationship. During the fight, she began to falter, and to protect her, Lin Feng intentionally lost the match.

Although Jin Mu Qiu emerged victorious, she was filled with regret, realizing she had lost the right to care for Lin Feng. Unable to bear Jin Mu Qiu's sadness, Bai Wan sought out the referee to voice her concerns but accidentally triggered the battle drum, causing her opponent to become Fei Lian from the Jiu Chong You Palace, a formidable foe. Aware of the power disparity, Bai Wan decided to give it her all.

Seeing this, Qu Zheng offered to help her practice and taught her many practical techniques. With Qu Zheng's assistance, Bai Wan's skills improved significantly. This left the observer, Su Zhuo Zhuo, puzzled. She tried to gather information from Song Jian Shan, but he deliberately avoided her questions. In frustration, Su Zhuo Zhuo resorted to using poison to temporarily silence him.

Meanwhile, the emotional turmoil between Lin Feng and Jin Mu Qiu continued. Lin Feng made efforts to reconcile, but Jin Mu Qiu had made up her mind. Their future seemed filled with uncertainty and change. After experiencing numerous trials, Bai Wan and Qu Zheng's bond deepened, becoming as strong and beautiful as a restored peach wood hairpin.
