Episode 27 recap: Million Learns About Qu Zheng's Love Poison
In Episode 27, Jin Mu Qiu and Lin Feng sneak a quick kiss when no one is watching. Jin Mu Qiu feels secretly pleased, relieved that they weren't caught. However, Lin Feng is still preoccupied with the unresolved issues involving Wu Chou, and thinks their secret meetings are against the rules. Jin Mu Qiu quickly reassures him that her brother, A Shu, is all about following the rules, so she’ll do her part.
But she has something urgent to take care of. After that, she removes Lin Feng's mask and kisses him passionately. Lin Feng responds with equal fervor, and they struggle to part. Suddenly, Jin Biao Tou appears out of nowhere, separating them and scolding them for their reckless behavior regarding Wu Chou. For the first time, he raises his voice at Jin Mu Qiu, telling her that while he usually indulges her, this time she can't just do as she pleases, and he pulls her away.
Lin Feng says goodbye to Million and Qu Zheng, thanking them for their protection but stating he needs to return to the Jin Family Escort Agency to convince Jin Biao Tou. Qu Zheng warns him that even if he convinces Jin Biao Tou, it won't matter if Wu Chou doesn’t understand. He reveals there’s a solution, but it requires signing a life-and-death contract and challenging the five sect leaders, succeeding in which would nullify Wu Chou’s power.
Determined to be with Qiu Er, Lin Feng boldly declares he fears nothing and sets off. Million watches the couple and reflects on their rocky relationship. He thinks about helping them, but Qu Zheng shakes his head, saying he just wants to focus on his own life with Million. The challenges Lin Feng and the others face might just be a necessary part of their journey together.
Million is puzzled, as her relationship with A Zheng seems perfectly fine, but Qu Zheng brings up her previous departure. Million shyly promises she won’t leave again this time.
Meanwhile, Su Zhuo Zhuo and Song Jian Shan are busy dealing with Qu Zheng’s illness. Su Zhuo Zhuo checks Qu Zheng's pulse and suspects poisoning. Upon investigation, they confirm it’s love poison! They quickly separate Million and Qu Zheng, with Su Zhuo Zhuo insisting Million copy a remedy, while Song Jian Shan tries to reason with Qu Zheng.
Once Million finishes copying the remedy, she intends to find Qu Zheng, but Su Zhuo Zhuo stops her, fearing she might slip up, and distracts her with food. In the meantime, Million looks through a medical book and discovers the secret behind the love poison.
On Qu Zheng’s side, Song Jian Shan fails to persuade him, and Qu Zheng goes looking for Million again. Million tries to speak but is silenced by Qu Zheng's kiss. Qu Zheng passionately confesses that the hardest part was the five years of longing for Million, and he never wants to be apart again. Million is moved to tears and ultimately agrees to be with him. However, Qu Zheng collapses due to the effects of the love poison, prompting Su Zhuo Zhuo to rush in to provide treatment.
Million seeks updates from Song Jian Shan, who suspects the poison may have originated from the arena. Million is frantic but feels powerless. Qu Zheng’s condition stabilizes, and Million tries to keep her distance, but Qu Zheng relentlessly pursues her. Under the watchful eyes of Su Zhuo Zhuo and Song Jian Shan, Million attempts to use a method from Jin Mu Qiu's story to make Qu Zheng lose interest in her, but it fails miserably.
In her moment of distress, Million thinks of Jin Mu Qiu. At that very moment, Jin Mu Qiu is busy writing a sequel about the nameless hero. Upon hearing about Lin Feng's challenge to resolve the Wu Chou situation, she first feels joy, but then worry sets in. Jin Biao Tou comforts her, assuring her that everything is under control. Jin Mu Qiu feels a mix of emotions, hoping for Lin Feng’s success while fearing for his safety.
