Episode 9 recap: Jin Mu Qiu's Wild Disruption at the Women's Gathering
In Episode 9, Bai Wan learns that Jin Mu Qiu had previously been pretending to be an elegant lady in front of Ling Feng. Now that it's time for her to perform, Jin Mu Qiu is extremely anxious, and Bai Wan shares her concern, fearing Ling Feng will discover that Jin Mu Qiu is the author of the story. However, the most pressing matter is the piano performance, so they quickly decide to find Qu Zheng to play.
Although Bai Wan is somewhat reluctant, she understands that Jin Mu Qiu's situation is the priority. Qu Zheng seems to have known about this all along and is waiting patiently. He happily agrees to teach Jin Mu Qiu, and Bai Wan encourages him to teach her some better pieces. Seizing the opportunity, Qu Zheng hints at Bai Wan, who, unable to counter him, storms off in frustration. No longer pretending to be a refined lady, Jin Mu Qiu's behavior leaves Ling Feng's mother dumbfounded, and the other attendees look at her in a new light. Jin Mu Qiu then speaks her mind, and Bai Wan has no choice but to play along. They even start pouring wine for Ling Feng's mother, leading to utter turmoil.
Zi Jing, noticing the chaos, stealthily draws a knife from behind, intending to attack Bai Wan. Outside, Qing Yun accidentally catches sight of the crescent moon tattoo on Bai Wan's arm. In disbelief, she takes action to stop Zi Jing!
Meanwhile, those who were discussing important matters in the martial arts world arrive. Qu Zheng carries Bai Wan away.
Ling Feng takes Jin Mu Qiu back, who, still inebriated, begins to act foolishly. She admits to deceiving him and asks if he would still love her if she weren't an elegant lady. Ling Feng candidly replies that he has never liked the facade of an elegant lady; instead, he needs to find a solution now that things have turned chaotic. At this moment, Jin Mu Qiu, leaning on Ling Feng’s shoulder, falls asleep.
On the other side, Bai Wan is also heavily intoxicated, and Qu Zheng seizes the opportunity to ask her about her life before joining the Jin Family Escort Agency five years ago. Bai Wan has no recollection, and Qu Zheng doesn’t press her further. He gazes thoughtfully at the couple's past token, a fox pendant that he had given her, which mysteriously disappeared later.
