Episode 15 recap: Zhao Fuqiang's Return
In Episode 15, Zhao Jia Qi arrives at the SWAT team, where Cheng Han Yue and the others are eager to ask her about her experience of being pregnant. Zhao Jia Qi shares that she feels uncomfortable every day, as the little one inside her is moving around, making her feel uneasy.Zhan Guo informs Peng Ying Xiang and the others that Zhao Jia Qi’s father is coming back. Peng Ying Xiang asks Zhan Guo what they will do if things don’t go well, especially since the baby is due soon. Zhan Guo admits he hasn't thought about that, but the instructor mentions that the city bureau’s political department will speak with Zhao Jia Qi.
Zhan Guo feels that Zhao Jia Qi is just an ordinary citizen, not even a civil servant. She knows her husband has arrested her father, and she can only face this situation herself without burdening anyone else. Zhan Guo vows to personally capture Zhao Fuqiang.
Peng Ying Xiang plans to assign a small team to keep watch nearby. Zhao Jia Qi hopes that the Thunder Squad will be assigned to her, as she doesn’t want the brothers who sleep in the same bunk bed with her calling her "sister-in-law" while arresting her father. As Zhan Guo and Zhao Jia Qi prepare to leave, Cheng Han Yue catches up with them, offering her car keys. She explains she doesn’t need the car and since Zhao Jia Qi is about to give birth, it might be more convenient for them to have it.
Zhan Guo and Zhao Jia Qi accept the keys. Once home, Zhan Guo is very anxious about Zhao Jia Qi and takes on all the household chores. Cheng Han Yue learns about the situation and is shocked, believing it would have been better if Zhao Fuqiang had stayed away, as his return disrupts Zhao Jia Qi’s life.
Peng Ying Xiang emphasizes that they are police officers and must do their jobs. He asks Cheng Han Yue if she can complete the mission; if not, they will bring in female officers from the women’s special operations team. Cheng Han Yue assures him that the Thunder Squad is up for the task.
Cheng Han Yue and her team take shifts monitoring Zhao Jia Qi’s home. Xu Yu Hui meets Zhan Guo at the supermarket, and Zhan Guo reports that there are currently no new updates.
Zhao Jia Qi is mopping the floor at home when Zhan Guo returns and immediately takes over, unable to hold back his tears. Zhao Jia Qi finds this strange and wonders what has been bothering Zhan Guo lately.
As Zhao Jia Qi starts to feel labor pains, Zhan Guo quickly rushes her to the hospital, informing Cheng Han Yue on the way. Cheng Han Yue and the others hurry to the hospital, with Cheng Han Yue calling Peng Ying Xiang. Peng Ying Xiang gathers Yan Jun and they set off in shifts as previously arranged.
Once at the delivery room, Zhan Guo is extremely anxious. After a difficult labor, Zhao Jia Qi finally gives birth to a baby. A nearby staff member removes his mask, revealing himself to be Zhao Fuqiang. He acknowledges that Zhan Guo clearly loves Zhao Jia Qi and feels a sense of relief.
Zhan Guo pulls out handcuffs to restrain Zhao Fuqiang, but Zhao Fuqiang points a gun at him. Zhao Jia Qi is shocked and confused by what’s happening. Zhao Fuqiang instructs two nurses to take the baby out first, and when they do, they share the news with Peng Ying Xiang and the team, who rush in.
A standoff ensues, with Zhan Guo telling Cheng Han Yue to stay behind to care for Zhao Jia Qi while he talks to Zhao Fuqiang. Zhan Guo explains that even though Zhao Fuqiang is not Zhao Jia Qi's biological father, he has treated her like his own daughter. He warns that if Zhao Fuqiang pulls the trigger today, not only will he die, but his brothers will also kill Zhao Fuqiang, leaving Zhao Jia Qi to lose the two most important men in her life.
Hesitating, Zhao Fuqiang agrees, telling Zhan Guo to promise him that he will take good care of Zhao Jia Qi. Zhan Guo assures him that he will.
