Episode 3 recap: Ep3
In Episode 3, the group was leisurely enjoying some snacks when they suddenly learned that Yan Jun had inadvertently uploaded an embarrassing video of himself getting knocked out by a female police officer during a training exercise.Upon hearing this, Zhan Guo felt a wave of anxiety, fearing this slip-up might ruin his chances of dating Just then, Peng Ying Xiang appeared and suggested that Zhan Guo continue to pretend to be injured in order to play on everyone’s guilt for some benefits Seizing the opportunity, Zhan Guo asked for two days off, and Peng Ying Xiang readily agreed
The group then helped Zhan Guo “recover” back to his room, a scene that was accidentally witnessed by Cheng Han Yue and others. Consumed by guilt, Dong Chun Lei wanted to visit Zhan Guo but hesitated, deciding instead to check on him alone.
Back in the dorm, everyone surrounded Zhan Guo. While they pretended to care, they were actually having a good laugh at his expense. Cheng Han Yue quickly saw through Zhan Guo’s act and reminded him to keep it convincing, as others were on their way.
Amid the fun, they gathered some snacks for Wang Rui Jie and Po Fei, even contributing Po Fei’s treats. Surprisingly, Wang Rui Jie had brought dog food and claimed it was particularly delicious with a little salt, even planning to enjoy some himself. Seeing this, Yan Jun thought nobody would eat the dog food anyway, so he casually took it, intending to let Po Fei try it. Wang Rui Jie quickly warned him not to let Po Fei eat too much at once, or it would make him fat, suggesting that Po Fei should exercise to digest it.
Yan Jun then played with Po Fei while the others watched from upstairs, amused by the scene.
Meanwhile, Peng Ying Xiang found Dr. Qi and explained that he was assigned to see a psychologist by his division, even though he didn’t feel he had any psychological issues. Dr. Qi tried to guide him to share childhood experiences, believing it would help relieve stress. Peng Ying Xiang was skeptical, prompting Dr. Qi to use an analogy: it’s like submerging a heavy can in the ocean; while the can disappears, the person remains the same, just feeling lighter.
During lunch, William Sun showed up uninvited and acted overly familiar with Dr. Qi, putting him in an awkward position. Noticing this, Peng Ying Xiang decided to leave but was soon cornered by William Sun. In the end, Peng Ying Xiang cleverly used a cup of water and a piece of “brick” (a bluff) to extricate himself and escort Dr. Qi away.
After lunch, Peng Ying Xiang approached Dr. Qi again and proposed switching roles to let Dr. Qi experience his life. During their conversation, Peng Ying Xiang mentioned Dr. Qi’s past teaching experiences and shared photos of the children from Dr. Qi's class, which were taken from a blog Dr. Qi had updated five years ago—something he had almost forgotten.
The following morning, Yan Jun had planned a training session at 7 AM, but Cheng Han Yue and the others overslept due to the previous night’s antics, only managing to gather at 8:30. When they arrived at the meeting point, it was deserted. They speculated that the team had headed to the training ground without them and rushed to catch up, bracing themselves for reprimands. However, upon arrival, they discovered that Peng Ying Xiang had intentionally let them sleep longer to help them recover. He even inquired if anyone had trouble sleeping due to uncomfortable mattresses and promised to replace them immediately.
Then, he led everyone to the cafeteria for a meal. Although they were initially downcast about being late, Peng Ying Xiang’s thoughtfulness made them feel warm and appreciated.
