Episode 6 recap: Peng Ying Xiang and the Team on a Mission

In Episode 6, Peng Ying Xiang and his team faced their very first mission, and they were understandably nervous. He reminded everyone, "We're all rookies, so let's take it easy." After returning home, Xici Li plastered her walls with the photos she had taken, as if documenting crucial clues. Meanwhile, Peng Ying Xiang was busy analyzing surveillance footage, capturing all the moments of Xici Li appearing and disappearing. He thought to himself, "Something feels off here, but I need to investigate further."

Wen Wen introduced Xici Li to Qi Heng Yi, claiming he was a good friend and asking Qi for assistance. Xici Li opened up about her past, mentioning her time with the Second Joint Task Force. Qi was intrigued, revealing that he had a keen interest in that area and had even done extensive research. Xici Li shared her story: when she was ten, her sister was born, but tragedy struck their family, and she was sold into a terrible situation. Those two years were hellish.

Fortunately, she was rescued by a hitman who helped her find her sister. After that, she joined the Canadian Marine Corps, choosing a different path. When mentioning the hitman, a soft look crossed Xici Li's eyes as she confessed, "There were many hitmen there, but I fell in love with him." She discreetly removed the recording chip, assuring Qi Heng Yi that she wouldn't let anyone know about it.

Qi Heng Yi felt her trust and promised to keep her secret. Xici Li insisted that she was just an ordinary exchange student now and didn't want to hurt anyone.

On another front, Zhan Guo ran into Zhao Jia Qi at the library, reminiscing about his childhood antics. He shared how he was so mischievous that his dad sent him to martial arts school to learn discipline.

Zhan Guo also revealed his hobby—making clay figures, which made Zhao Jia Qi laugh. She teased him, saying, "That's not mischief; that's talent!"

Meanwhile, the chief gathered Peng Ying Xiang and the others, with Xu Yu Hui from the Major Cases Unit briefing them on a situation: the third smelting plant of Donghai Steel had been rented by Ri Tai Storage Company, and it was involved in drug production and trafficking.

The chief slammed his hand on the table, deciding to establish a special task force led by himself, with the heads of the narcotics, criminal investigation, and SWAT teams as deputies. The Major Cases Unit was assigned to preliminary investigations, and the Rapid Response Team was on standby. He codenamed the operation "Ice Cream Cone," explaining, "My granddaughter loves ice cream cones, but I've discovered that someone is disguising drugs as ice cream cones to harm children. This menace must be eradicated!"

Peng Ying Xiang, along with Yan Jun and Cheng Han Yue's Lightning Team, prepared for undercover surveillance. Cheng Han Yue and her team were well-equipped and even brought seasonal clothing. Peng Ying Xiang reminded everyone to surrender their phones and contact their families quickly.

Zhan Guo told Zhao Jia Qi that he would be on a business trip and couldn't attend her graduation exhibition, leaving her disappointed because she had prepared a special gift for him.

Peng Ying Xiang distributed special phones to everyone, enabling internal communication and daily safety updates to their immediate family members. However, these phones could only contact direct relatives and had monitoring features to ensure safety. With everyone cramped into a small space, the girls shared a room, including Po Fei. Looking at the abundance of instant noodles, they were all quite skeptical. Yan Jun quickly reassured them, "Don't worry, there's a cafeteria. We only eat noodles when we work late."

Peng Ying Xiang decided to lead the outer reconnaissance himself, bringing along Cheng Han Yue, who would pose as a backpacker while he acted as her boyfriend. The outer perimeter had scouts, so they had to be cautious and avoid arousing suspicion. Weapons were not allowed for this mission, but He Yu Yang discreetly gave Cheng Han Yue a small knife, saying it was inconspicuous and could be a lifesaver in critical moments. Yan Jun and the others were also ready for action, as a tense and challenging reconnaissance mission was about to commence.
