Episode 1 recap: Xi Lin Detains Ha Li Ke's Motorcycle
In the first episode, during the 2018 Xinjiang Rally, Ha Li Ke sees Lin Hao accidentally fall and rushes to help him, but Lin Hao firmly refuses. Determined to finish the race despite his injuries, Lin Hao focuses solely on reaching the finish line. Ha Li Ke is anxious, fearing for Lin Hao's safety, and urges him to go to the hospital, only to be called a coward by Lin Hao. Their disagreement highlights their differing personalities and adds a bit of drama to the race.
Ha Li Ke's passion for motorcycles goes back several years to a day when he and his friends stumbled upon an impressive motorcycle demonstration. That moment captivated him and planted the seed to master motorcycle skills.
Fast forward to 2013, Ha Li Ke excitedly announces that he will perform motorcycle stunts at the anniversary celebration of a barbecue restaurant, enthusiastically inviting everyone to come and watch.
Meanwhile, Lin Hao and his colleagues decide to lighten the work atmosphere with a screw-tightening competition to have some fun during breaks. When their boss inquires about it, Lin Hao cheerfully explains that it's a spontaneous team-building activity to help everyone relax. However, the boss is not pleased and criticizes Lin Hao, mentioning that he has accumulated several penalties and threatens to add more. Lin Hao remains unfazed and even considers leaving work early, which further irritates the boss.
At this moment, Xi Lin and Hao Qiang arrive. Xi Lin, the new secretary who is particularly concerned about traffic safety, sees Ha Li Ke and the others performing without proper helmets—only wearing safety caps—and harshly reprimands them. Lin Hao wants to defend his friends, but Hao Qiang finds himself in a difficult position.
Realizing they know each other, Xi Lin becomes even stricter, insisting they write self-reflection letters and confiscating their motorcycle. Ha Li Ke and the others are frantic; the motorcycle is crucial to them, but Xi Lin remains unyielding.
Determined not to leave, Ha Li Ke continues to plead with Xi Lin, while Hao Qiang watches, contemplating how to manage these young men to prevent future incidents. This incident not only makes Ha Li Ke and his friends aware of the importance of safety but also deepens everyone’s understanding of traffic regulations.
Ha Li Ke, being stubborn, refuses to give up and even has food sent over to try to win over Hao Qiang. Although Hao Qiang eats, he stands firm on the principle, joking that if Ha Li Ke can’t live without his motorcycle, he might as well stay overnight. Later, Hao Qiang pulls Lin Hao and Ha Li Ke aside, expressing both frustration and concern, warning them that if they continue to cause trouble, it could lead to serious consequences, and suggests they rest in the main hall for now.
On the other side, Lin Hao's boss contacts his father to discuss how to guide Lin Hao back on track. Meanwhile, Lin Hao, overhearing his father's expectations at the repair shop, feels conflicted. He finds his current job uninteresting but is unsure of what to do next.
In another storyline, Shen Di discovers that someone in her team has gone missing—someone who is a close friend of Zhao. Frantically, she tries to reach Lin Hao for help, as he had planned the route, but her calls go unanswered. The next day at work, Xi Lin mentions the rescue operation, prompting Ha Li Ke to step forward, offering his familiarity with the area and expressing a desire to join the search. Lin Hao also joins the discussion, suggesting three key search locations, and decides to split up with Ha Li Ke and others to look for the missing person.
