Episode 2 recap: Lin Hao is Kicked Out by Aierken
In Episode 2, Lin Hao reunites with Ha Li Ke after many years, and their meeting takes place in the vast desert. While attempting to jump over sand dunes on his motorcycle, Lin Hao falls and ends up with a broken bike that won’t move. Just then, Ha Li Ke drives by and, without hesitation, decides to take Lin Hao along to find a place to get the bike repaired.
Although Lin Hao has a bit of a prideful personality, Ha Li Ke admires him, especially for his motorcycle jumping skills. They had actually met as kids; Ha Li Ke once fell while trying to catch up to Lin Hao’s mentor’s bike, which landed him in the hospital. This incident stuck with him and fueled his determination to learn how to ride.
Meanwhile, Shen Di’s arrangements go awry, causing frustration for their important client, Mr. Zhao. To make things worse, Mr. Wang ends up in the hospital due to excessive drinking. Shen Di must swallow her pride and repeatedly visit the hospital to apologize and recover outstanding payments. On Lin Hao's side, the repair costs reach a staggering 15,000, and he must pay upfront. The shop owner is anxious, fearing that Lin Hao might skip out on the bill.
Lin Hao goes to discuss the repair costs with Shen Di, only to find she’s not there. Feeling awkward, Ha Li Ke suggests they go out for a meal. However, Lin Hao is short on cash and can't afford to treat him. Cleverly, Ha Li Ke takes Lin Hao to his brother’s wrestling gym, where they can eat for free.
As luck would have it, Shen Di is also there, trying to apologize to Mr. Zhao. When she sees that he’s not having enough fun, she offers to spar with him, hoping to lighten the mood. Initially skeptical, Mr. Zhao starts to see Shen Di in a new light when she easily throws Ha Li Ke’s brother.
Lin Hao approaches Shen Di to discuss sharing the repair costs, believing his bike troubles are related to her itinerary mishaps. However, Shen Di is also frustrated, as Lin Hao’s phone dying led to their client’s dissatisfaction, and she’s been waiting to confront him about it. They end up in a heated argument, neither willing to back down.
Feeling helpless, Lin Hao seeks help from his mentor, Aierken. Aierken, upon hearing about the situation, erupts in anger and scolds him. Just then, Ha Li Ke steps in, offering to help fix the bike. Aierken then sets a condition: if Ha Li Ke can repair the bike, he’ll take him on as a student and teach him jumping techniques. When Lin Hao wakes up, he finds Ha Li Ke has completely dismantled the bike, which panics him, prompting him to rush Ha Li Ke to put it back together before Aierken returns to give them another scolding.
Unfortunately, Ha Li Ke is unable to restore the bike, and when Aierken returns and sees the mess, he kicks both of them out. Lin Hao is furious, feeling that Ha Li Ke is always causing trouble for him.
On another note, Hao Qiang is feeling distressed about the upcoming Red Date Festival in town. He hopes to attract investment through the festival to help the locals prosper, but facing numerous challenges in securing sponsors. Although the higher-ups are supportive, funding is limited, encouraging them to find their own solutions. Hao Qiang comes up with the idea to showcase local motorcycle skills at the festival, seeing it as a unique feature that could motivate the youth.
Back in town, he assigns Ha Li Ke the task of preparing the motorcycle demonstration area, and Ha Li Ke eagerly accepts, determined to make it work. However, setting up the venue requires money, prompting Hao Qiang to reluctantly ask his wife for assistance. He initially plans to “borrow” some supplies from her stationery store but gets caught. Despite her initial reluctance, his wife ultimately softens and asks how much money he needs before he leaves.
