Episode 8 recap: Lin Hao's Determination to Form a Motorcycle Team

In Episode 8, Ha Li Ke steps out of the wrestling gym and unexpectedly runs into Xi Lin, who has come to find him. She’s holding some dates from Awahan and brings him surprising news: their usual training ground is about to be demolished. Ha Li Ke listens calmly; ever since his friend Kirimu's tragic death, he has gradually let go of his obsession with motorcycles.

Xi Lin, concerned for Ha Li Ke's future, asks about his plans. He shakes his head, indicating that he just wants to earn more money for now. He knows that Kirimu's daughter will need financial support, and as a friend, he feels responsible. Instead of urging him to return home, Xi Lin suggests he work as a noodle chef at her cousin's restaurant, which would allow him to use his skills and earn a stable income.

Ha Li Ke gladly accepts the job, and the restaurant provides accommodation, which reassures Xi Lin. However, she knows that Ha Li Ke’s ambitions go beyond this, and he will need time to figure out his future path. Regarding the training ground, Xi Lin promises to talk to Hao Qiang to see if they can preserve this cherished place.

Soon after, Aierken brings Lin Hao to the restaurant for noodles, where they unexpectedly encounter Ha Li Ke. Lin Hao shares his dreams with Ha Li Ke, but Ha Li Ke is focused on making money and still struggles with the idea of returning to motorcycle racing. Lin Hao doesn’t push him, but Aierken senses that Ha Li Ke still has unresolved feelings.

Determined to form a motorcycle team, Aierken urgently wants Ha Li Ke to join them. He and Lin Hao visit Ha Li Ke late at night, expressing their sincere intentions, but Ha Li Ke declines once again. Aierken gives up, but Lin Hao refuses to back down. Knowing Ha Li Ke's internal struggle, he decides to provoke him.

He drags Ha Li Ke to the train tracks, pretending to run onto the tracks, and Ha Li Ke instinctively saves him. Grateful, Lin Hao realizes that Ha Li Ke's feelings for motorcycles haven’t truly disappeared; he’s just been avoiding them. Despite Lin Hao's persuasive efforts, Ha Li Ke remains steadfast in his decision, though he sincerely wishes Lin Hao success.

Meanwhile, Shen Di anxiously pulls Lin Hao home, asking his grandfather, Old Lin, to help persuade Lin Hao's father to support his racing dreams. Old Lin is pleased with Shen Di and agrees to help, getting ready to talk to Lin Hao's father. However, when Lin Hao approaches his father, they argue over Lin Hao's job.

Lin Hao asks for help, but his father counters with the condition that he return to work in the mines, causing their conversation to break down again, and they part on bad terms. To help Ha Li Ke confront his feelings, Lin Hao decides to take drastic measures. He forcefully takes Ha Li Ke and a motorcycle to the Gobi Desert, leaving behind a motorcycle and a fire, challenging Ha Li Ke to choose: give up entirely or reclaim his old dream.

Faced with this challenge, Ha Li Ke falls into deep thought, while Lin Hao quietly drives away, giving Ha Li Ke the space to confront himself.
