In Episode 7, Xia Ling wakes up groggily in her tent, puzzled about how she ended up in this place. Cao Yan Bing calmly informs her that they’re officially on the road now. Xia Ling panics, realizing she hasn't prepared anything for the journey and wonders why they rushed out.
Cao Yan Bing readily offers to lend her some of his gear. Seeing his pile of belongings, Xia Ling can't help but laugh at how carefree he is. At that moment, Gui Fu San Tong shows off his treasure, and Xia Ling's eyes light up as she praises him for his impressive skills.
Next, the special training for their guardian spirits begins. Gui Fu San Tong customizes three enhancement plans for Cao Yan Bing: first, to extend the time the guardian spirit can appear; second, to refine the summoning techniques; and third, to strengthen the teamwork between the summoner and the guardian spirit. Xia Ling, feeling curious, eagerly asks about her own training plan.
Gui Fu San Tong explains that due to the Heart Lock Chain, Xia Ling's primary task is to learn how to actively summon her guardian spirit. The first step is to have smooth communication with it. He then performs a “mind-opening” ritual, claiming it will eliminate distractions and unlock her potential, assuring her to trust him.
After some effort, Xia Ling tries calling out the name of her guardian spirit, Li Xuan Yuan, and to her surprise, he appears instantly. Overjoyed, Xia Ling is reminded by Gui Fu San Tong to communicate regularly with Li Xuan Yuan; once they are in sync, the Heart Lock Chain will naturally unlock. Cao Yan Bing, feeling a mix of envy and frustration, thinks it’s unfair that Xia Ling gets to take shortcuts while he has to grind away.
Gui Fu San Tong humorously replies that this is the difference between a regular player and a VIP player.
Meanwhile, in the Spirit Realm, a bounty has been placed on Cao Yan Bing’s head, prompting bounty hunters to take action. Fubing uses her Crimson Flame Bird to search for him, but the bird ends up as Xia Ling’s meal.
Xia Ling, worried about her graduation presentation, asks Gui Fu San Tong how long the training will last. He reassures her, knowing several paths back to the human world, promising to send her back at the right moment. This makes Cao Yan Bing uneasy, concerned that Xia Ling’s limited skills might get her into trouble in the Spirit Realm.
Gui Fu San Tong comforts him, saying that one person’s strength is limited, and while Cao Yan Bing faces many enemies, Xia Ling is not just a helper but a partner in battle.
Before long, a rogue reveals Cao Yan Bing's location, attracting a group of unexpected guests. Although Xia Ling can summon Li Xuan Yuan now, his appearance time is still quite short. To make matters worse, the leader of the Heroic Hall, Xiang Kunlun, personally arrives, determined to capture Cao Yan Bing.
Curious about the diversity of guardian spirits, Xia Ling wonders why some are big and some small, and why there are both male and female spirits. Gui Fu San Tong explains that guardian spirits are fascinating products of biological evolution, like how atomic energy can either explode into a bomb or operate smoothly in a nuclear power plant; guardian spirits are a variant form of atomic energy.
Though Xia Ling doesn’t fully grasp the concept, she nods along, pretending to understand. Meanwhile, Fubing has obtained the Spirit Huai Branch and is waiting for the Divine Martial Spirit and the War God body to merge, creating an unbeatable force in the Soul Town.
