Episode 24 recap: Cheng Hui Invites Sheng Ni Na to Dinner
In this episode, Cheng Hui brings Tang Yang and Jiang Shi Yan to his cozy two-bedroom apartment. Recently, Feng Wei Ran had a little spat with his wife and temporarily moved in with Cheng Hui, but now that they’ve reconciled, the spare room is available.Cheng Hui learns that Jiang Shi Yan is looking for a place nearby and immediately offers to share his apartment. However, Jiang Shi Yan wants to enjoy some quality time with Tang Yang and quickly makes up an excuse, saying he hasn't made any decisions yet, politely declining Cheng Hui's generous offer.
While at Cheng Hui's living room, Tang Yang stumbles across a trajectory map of a small asteroid on his computer. Cheng Hui comments that this little guy will take a thousand years to fly to the other side of Earth and then try to squeeze into the solar system. This sparks a moment of reflection for both Tang Yang and Jiang Shi Yan, who realize how fleeting life is. In contrast, they admire Cheng Hui's deep understanding of the universe.
After leaving Cheng Hui's place, Jiang Shi Yan and Tang Yang share their "first kiss," transforming over a decade of friendship into a sweet, intimate moment. Both are overjoyed, and when they get home, they can't help but blush at the thought of it.
During work, Tang Yang notices his colleagues watching a livestream of Jiang Ya Nan doing makeup, realizing she has become a minor internet celebrity. He feels genuinely happy for her. Meanwhile, Jiang Shi Yan frequently visits Tang Yang's office now that their relationship has blossomed into romance. Their days are filled with sweet moments, and they yearn to be even closer, despite their busy routines.
One evening, while Jiang Shi Yan is working late, Tang Yang rushes to see him right after his shift, even taking the time to dress up. His mother, noticing his excitement, playfully asks whom he’s meeting. When she learns it's Jiang Shi Yan, she jokingly encourages him to spend time with other guys instead of always being with Jiang Shi Yan.
Tang Yang smiles to himself, aware that his mother is oblivious to their secret.
Meanwhile, Cheng Hui invites Sheng Ni Na out for a late-night snack, but her flight is delayed, and she might not make it on time. Cheng Hui, being thoughtful, assures her not to rush and patiently waits. Normally not the most romantic, this time he goes the extra mile by ordering the restaurant's specialties and remembering Sheng Ni Na's mango allergy, swapping her mango drink for something else.
When the restaurant closes and Sheng Ni Na still hasn’t arrived, Cheng Hui enjoys a double portion of food by himself. Just as he steps outside, he encounters a slightly late Sheng Ni Na, and they head to a street vendor to continue their late-night adventure.
Sheng Ni Na, who has been busy with work and has had little romantic experience, feels warmed by Cheng Hui's thoughtful and dedicated nature.
Jiang Shi Yan and Tang Yang decide to try new things together. When Jiang Shi Yan offers to help her organize her suitcase, Tang Yang laughs, realizing it’s something she never expected a guy to do.
Jiang Shi Yan organizes everything neatly and, before parting, gifts Tang Yang a pencil case containing a special pen—an identical replacement for the one Feng Wei Ran accidentally broke in high school. Jiang Shi Yan learned how meaningful that pen was to Tang Yang, as it was a cherished relic from her grandmother. After searching high and low, she finally found it through a pen collector at a high price, hoping to mend the regret she felt.
This gesture deeply moves Tang Yang.
