Episode 7 recap: Tang Yang Receives a Figure from Zhou Mo via Cash Payment
In Episode 7, Tang Yang finds it puzzling how he and Jiang Shi Yan became such close friends who share everything. Jiang Shi Yan feels the same way; despite the many beautiful women in the company, Tang Yang stands out as someone special to him. One time, in a perfect moment, Jiang Shi Yan almost kissed Tang Yang, but Tang Yang shyly dodged and made an excuse to leave.
To cheer Jiang Shi Yan up, Tang Yang takes him to a night market to play tennis. The vibrant lights make it an ideal setting for the game. After playing, Jiang Shi Yan lingers at home, sipping tea and reminiscing about the fun they had. Tang Yang jokingly says, "You should cherish me as a friend." Jiang Shi Yan doesn't think much of it, but his heart races, especially since Zhou Mo is pursuing Tang Yang closely, and he fears he might miss his chance.
During a meeting, Tang Yang proposes a project, and to his surprise, Gan Yi Ming supports him wholeheartedly, complimenting his insight. Some colleagues privately warn him about the risks involved, but Tang Yang doesn't dwell on it too much; he simply empathizes with the military spouses among their clients and doesn’t consider the potential consequences.
Zhou Mo sends Tang Yang a set of figures, but the recipient's name seems off. Tang Yang suspects it’s a gift from a senior, as they had previously discussed figures together. The figures are quite expensive, and Tang Yang is reluctant to accept them. Although Zhou Mo is unhappy, she ultimately accepts Tang Yang's money when he offers to transfer it.
Jiang Shi Yan initially plans to treat Tang Yang to a Michelin meal, but when Tang Yang's work keeps him busy, Jiang Shi Yan gives the invitation to Feng Wei Ran instead. Cheng Hui also joins in, eager to go along.
Jiang Shi Yan visits Tang Yang's home with a lunchbox and spots the figures, feeling a pang of jealousy. He accidentally breaks one, but Tang Yang suggests he fix it. Jiang Shi Yan feels relieved because he happens to have bought the same figure and intends to quietly swap it out.
Tang Yang is particularly invested in her first loan project. She frequently visits a snack shop and notices that after renovations, the business has actually declined. When she takes Ya Nan out for a meal, he praises the food, saying it tastes much better than the decor. Tang Yang realizes the renovations are too formal and lack the warmth that draws people in.
Ya Nan buys specialty snacks from the shop to take to Jiang Shi Yan's company, supporting the owner while helping to promote the place. Jiang Shi Yan tries the food and finds it delicious, remembering the shop's name.
The next day after work, Jiang Shi Yan witnesses a group of kids bullying a boy named Min Lin. He immediately starts recording to gather evidence and steps in to stop the bullying. He helps Min Lin up and uses the video to warn the bullies about the seriousness of their actions. It turns out that Min Lin is the son of the fast-food restaurant owner, whose father died in service, making him a target for bullying due to his single-parent status. Jiang Shi Yan relates to him, having grown up in a single-parent family himself, and realizes how much Tang Yang's support has meant to him in avoiding similar experiences. This strengthens Jiang Shi Yan's resolve to protect the vulnerable even more.
